Need Advice On Advertising My Freelance Marketplac

Posted by omarmuzaffar30 on 250 Points
I am currently developing a 0% commission freelance marketplace.

Unlike other marketplaces we don't charge a commission we offer a monthly fee for freelancers.

We need to advertise to employers (businesses) and freelancers.

As employers will want a community of freelancers to post to.
And freelancers will want jobs to work on.

I am currently writing a marketing campaign to attract both type of users.

Idea 1
Personally invite freelancers to get onboard and try out for free.

Idea 2
Pay $10 for every job posted and completed on the site. To encourage early employers to post with us. And thus attracting freelancers.

Idea 3
Run a 2 month contest aimed towards employers to post on our site and they could win $2000.00. this would be ideal for startups like myself who have a limited budget.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I welcome any suggestions.

Thanks,

Omar

This is a typical chicken-and-egg problem.
Why would a freelancer choose to look on your website?
Why would a company look to post on your website?
There are lots of websites with lots of freelancers and lots of businesses looking for freelancers. Besides the commission - what specialty can you focus on? How will you help the matching process (it's time consuming on both sides)?

For freelancers we offer a chance for them to earn more than on other sites as there is no commission. So they save more with us.

In regards to what else we offer
    All freelancers are vetted.
We want to take on experienced freelancers with more than 2 years experience.

This helps the businesses be reassured that they are hiring top quality.

We also are currently trying to focus on making sure that freelancers can take there money out quicker rather than waiting many days for funds to be withdrawn.

Also we want to add gigs so this is another avenue for freelancers to keep more of what they can earn.
