In the current economic climate, more business owners need to evaluate their website and revamp it to turn it into a presales tool, lead-generation machine, or even a revenue-producing cash cow.

Can it be done? It just takes a few tweaks to turn on the profits.

Your website needs to be crisp, clean, and focused with laser-like precision on your niche market. If you don't have a niche yet, identify your top-three classes of customers—such as the frequent buyers, the first-time visitors, and the clients you want to convert to lifelong customers—and create a customized Web page for each of them.

The following five steps will help you revamp your website:
