| Bio | A former journalist and award-winning writer/editor, Patricia A. Roche’ has managed worldwide media relations for Hewlett-Packard, directed marketing communications for publicly traded corporations, worked for top New York City-based public relations agencies, successfully positioned start-up information technology companies as leaders in their categories, and operated her own global marketing firm. As Managing Director, US, she is currently heads up U.S. operations for a global PR firm, The Media & Marketing .
Patricia began her career working for the Associated Press in New York City. Moving into public relations, she worked for top NYC agencies and eventually started her own agency (which she eventually sold). With the goal of expanding her corporate experience, she headed up worldwide communications for International Microcomputer Software, Inc. (IMSI) and worldwide media relations for Hewlett Packard (Worldwide Business Customer Organization/Software and Services) – where she launched their utility computing initiative. From there, she joined HP team members and launched Jareva Technologies – which was successfully acquired by Veritas in 2003.
Over the years, her clientele have represented diverse fields, including science and technology, mobile advertising, banking and finance, manufacturing, transportation and international shipping, real estate, law, travel and recreation, sports, education, entertainment, among others. Clients have included Opsware (formerly Loudcloud), FileNet, Philip Morris U.S.A., Evergreen Marine Corporation, ACT/Pace, Dwight & Church, American Savings Bank, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Fruit of the Loom, the National Enquirer, Slim-Fast Foods, the London Festival Ballet, the Miss America Pageant, among others.
Patricia received the national Bridge Award for Newsletter Excellence twice for her work on behalf of Owens-Corning Fiberglas and Jeep Corporation. She has served on the board of directors for the American Diabetes Association, NAIOP (commercial real estate industry association), The Daylight Group (Daytop International), and the Association for Classical Music in New York City.
In addition to membership in the Public Relations Society of America, Meeting Planners International, SVASE, the National Law Firm Marketing Association, and Delta Sigma Pi, the professional business fraternity, she is past president of an Ohio chapter of Sigma Delta Chi, the professional journalism society. |
