Slogan For Camera Equipment Buyback Company
Posted By: b.burns on 6/20/2006 10:08 AM (CST) 250 Points
Our name is Shutter Exchange and we specialize in buying used or unwanted camera equipment. In most cases, our clients sell us old equipment hoping to place the money gained from the sell on a newer model, preferably digital. We often try selling the customer items we have in inventory, but mostly we settle with a simple payment.

Here are a few slogans we’ve played around with:

Why settle for less?
We buy Cameras
Focused on You
We Pay More
Upgrade Made Easy
Camera Upgrade Professionals
Etc…

Could anyone please offer any additional assistance, as my mind is not as creative as most who visit this site.

You have 2 alternatives when selecting a slogan:
- something "catchy"
- something that reinforces your differentiating characteristics and strengthens your brand. (If I get a vote it goes for this type, but it's your call.)

If you want the 1st type, look for something that rolls off the tongue, has a rhyme and/or double meaning and is easy to remember. Conduct a brainstorming session for 15-30 minutes (or until new ideas dry up) and capture every idea - the good, the bad and the ugly. Your goal should be to get as many ideas without evaluating or filtering any. When you're finished, put the list away until the next day - then select the good ideas and any promising ideas that you can build upon. (Feel free to laugh as you discard the bad and the ugly!)

If you want the 2nd type, you first have to:
- define your differentiating characteristics. What makes you different from other similar businesses and why should people use you instead of your competition?
- define your target customers (buyers and sellers) in as much detail as possible. What are their: ages, income level, marital status, sex, educational level...?
-define what you want your brand to represent. In the future after your brand is established, when someone hears your company name what do you want them to think of? With this information, conduct a brainstorming session as described above.

Having said that, how about:
- Exchange Your Shutter
- Bring Us Your Unwanted Cameras

vic,

We buy and sell hardware such as camera bodies, lenses, flash strobes, etc...

Your suggestion sounds too much like a photo-swapping website.

Thnaks for the try though.

-------------------------------------------

BARQ,

I like Focused on Value...very nice.

-------------------------------------------

We've thought up a few more, but nothing that jumps out:

Selling Simplified
Focused on your selling needs
Simply about Cameras
Buying Cameras is our Focus
Sellers Wanted

Customers can sell old camera equipments and can buy new, technically- upgraded equipments. This gives the new dimension to their viewing- experience!

- The whole new world!
- Same world! New Vision!
- Time to exchange your camera!

You guys are really creative…

“We buy cameras” or “We buy camera equipment” was once an idea, but we want to be a little more creative. It does get the message across though.

As stated, we buy “used” or unwanted equipment and resell for profit. We want to simplify the selling process, while at the same time offer the customer a fair price. Currently, we pay roughly 20-25% more for equipment than our competitors.

“Color equipment. B&W Prices” is good, but I’m afraid we need our customers think the opposite… “B&W Equipment. Color Prices”

Pank575,

I like where you’re going with this. The fact is, when most people sell or buy a new camera, they’re either putting the money earned from the sell on a new model, or setting aside the old camera in a closet.

Our goal is to make the selling process easy, whether it’s selling a camera to help fund a new purchase, or selling a camera that’s been sitting in the closet for the past 5 years.

Our biggest competitor is the customers themselves. Instead of selling the equipment on ebay, we need to somehow persuade them to use our service.

How about something like:

I like the play on words, but it sounds much like a cash advance business... or even worse, a pawn shop.
