You have 2 alternatives when selecting a name:
- something "catchy"
- something that reinforces your differentiating characteristics and strengthens your brand. (If I get a vote it goes for this type, but it's your call.)

If you want the 1st type, look for something that rolls off the tongue, has a rhyme and/or double meaning and is easy to remember. Conduct a brainstorming session for 15-30 minutes (or until new ideas dry up) and capture every idea - the good, the bad and the ugly. Your goal should be to get as many ideas without evaluating or filtering any. When you're finished, put the list away until the next day - then select the good ideas and any promising ideas that you can build upon. (Feel free to laugh as you discard the bad and the ugly!)

If you want the 2nd type, you first have to:
- define your differentiating characteristics. What makes you different from other similar businesses and why should people use you instead of your competition?
- define your target customers (buyers and sellers) in as much detail as possible. What are their: ages, income level, marital status, sex, educational level...?
-define what you want your brand to represent. In the future after your brand is established, when someone hears your company name what do you want them to think of? With this information, conduct a brainstorming session as described above.

I can't really suggest specific names since I'm not familiar with the Pakistani culture and other biscuits available there.

i'll take a guess that you're in Australia, since you say biscuit instead of cookie?

Anyway, there was an industrial fan company in the USA who, at best, had little market share for the industry they represented...They sold really large industrial fans...I guess you'd place them in high rise / commercial buildings.

So here's what they did, the changed their name and used that as the "all being" marketing campaign. I'll tell you the name in a second...Either people loved them or hated them...there was no luke-warm feelings about this company. Either you loved them or hated them. Their new name, made the company a lot of money plus it got them a bunch of free press.

The Company's former name was HVLS Inc...

And it was changed to BIG ASS FANS. You can read their story online.

So all of that to say here's an idea. Keep the name simple so kids can remember it.

How about

"BIG BISCUITS"

Hi Ghousi,

As you know great names are a powerful force in the branding, marketing and advertising campaigns of the companies they work for. They differentiate you from competitors, make an emotional connection with your audience, and help to build a brand that ignites the passions of your customers.

As you are working for ad agency and need to develop a Biscuit Name for pakistan region (biscuit is a small baked bread or cake.) - To make that decision, you need to understand the possibilities and culture of Pakistan. A name can:

• Achieve separation from your competitors
• emonstrate to the world that you are different
• Reinforce a unique positioning platform
• Create positive and lasting engagement with your audience
• Be unforgettable
• Propel itself through the world on its own, becoming a no-cost, self-sustaining PR vehicle
• Provide a deep well of marketing and advertising images
• Be the genesis of a brand that rises above the goods and services you provide
• Completely dominate a category

With images and language (Urdu) that will help you to pinpoint the most effective in 5-10 years old kids. Pakistan and Indian Market is kind of same – if you add any thing – which will suggest it will give physical strength, it will work. It will help you to perfect personality in Pakistan. Following are the names I would like to suggest .

1. Energy biscuit
2. Baby Biscuit
3. Glucose biscuits
4. Namkeen
5. Biscute
6. Real Bakers
7. Crunchy Biscuit
8. (Cartoon name/ superman/Spiderman/famous comic hero’s name) Biscuit
9. all in one Biscuit
10. Junior / KG / smart kid - Biscuit
11. Milk / Cream / Chocolate / coconut – Biscuit

You can translate in Urdu to make suitable to target your customers. You can think about children’s food age 5-10. Think about children pyramid for food.

If you are going to provide all type of service, then you need to evaluate your business from baseline: it doesn’t stop only with the business name, you need to consider following things: Name of the service (type), presentation (website, logo), communication (advertisement, phone number – simple to remember), transport (colour, vehicle, instruments, staff availability) and service (charges / cost / VAT), it all comes under value chain analysis for your new business.

I hope this will help!

Regards,

M Bhor
