Different Approach On Advertising For A Realtor
Posted By: falconpower2* on 6/28/2006 4:53 PM (CST) 125 Points
I just got back into real estate I have been a realtor on and off for the last 10 years. I deal with residential buyers and sellers. I have always loved my job, especially the hunt for the perfect home for my buyers. I like to see the excitement when they see the perfect home for them. I don't want the "I sold xx houses this year", or "I have been in the top sales". My concern is communication, honesty, quality of service not quantity. I want to promote myself that way, but not sure how to word it and still sound professional. Yes, I want to make money but also want very happy clients. I don't want to take more clients than I know I can handle and give the best service to my clients. With only a certain number of buyers and sellers I can devote my time to them. I know this sounds confusing. Thanks for any help. Laurie

You can't just assume that a good slogan will mean communication, honesty, and quality. So in building your theme here are a few thoughts:

Quality clients deserve quality service.
XYZ Realty focuses clients needs one at a time.
Where open, honest, and strong communication meets devotion.

Another route is do something in 3's, like the old triangle, circle, square or good things come in threes. You can devise a triangular logo that encompasses the silhouette of a house and in part of the triangle include 1)Communication, 2) Honesty, 3) Quality (or whatever you choose).

Hope this helps,
Andy

Andy,

I know the slogan is only a slogan. I do like your ideas. I have always gotten pretty close with a lot of my clients , some are really good friends of mine. Other Realtors used to always tell me I spend to much time with my clients. To me that has always been important to me. Within the last week I have heard from 5 different people how they know someone who is very upset because they hired the top producer in the area, but can never get any answers or the time of day. Some even had to check with the lender to see if everything was ready for closing! I have always said just because they sell a lot doesn't mean they are the best. Usually they don't have time. I just wanted to market myself in the different way letting people know that my top priority is them. I know it is going to be referrals and past clients to help me here. Just like a read in another post that a new agent got an expired listing because he had nothing so he could devote all his time to this one. Just my point. I will limit the number of clients I work with at one time, I think the attention and priority I give them will give me new referrals. I'm sure I sound crazy, it is really hard to put into words. I am really good with people, just not writing! Thank you again.

Use a slogan along the lines of
I limit my customers not my service.
I minimize my customers to maximize my service
minimal customers mean maximum attention

True One on One Service
Since I only work with one customer at a time.

Do you only work with one buyer at a time, or one seller at a time, or occasionally one of each?

I limit my customers, not my service! Your listing is always on my mind.

I limit my customers, not my service! You are always on my mind.

xyz realty, we limit our customers, not our service. so you are always on our mind!

Are you looking to buy a home? call laurie at xyz realty today, I limit my customers, to provide remarkable service!

Contact me today to see the difference personal attention can make in buying and selling your home.

Setting yourself apart as an agent who simply limits customers is just the beginning. what other ways will you provide personal service. That is the next direction your marketing should head.

Roadmaps buying selling homes
checklists
etcs
timelines etcs.

All of course should contain your personal branding: Logo: xyz realty, I limit my customers, not my service! Your listing is always on my mind.

After each closing: then have your customer become your personal guru to market for you.

Just some ideas. Good Luck

Advertising is to gather numbers and if you want to limit numbers and provide quality service then word of mouth will be enough to keep you busy.
Believe me you wont feel like spending resources on ads or making slogans.

Still if you wants some words as slogan for the public then how about
"Someone's (neighbours) envy...someone's (Clients) pride"

Hope this helps

Arshad

I work with more than one at a time, but I will refer people if I get to busy. My focus is on the service that I promise I will give. I want to make a decent living so numbers matter to a point, but client satisfaction is first. I can use some of the ideas when I do send out stuff to get going again, then the rest will hopefully be referrals. I did join a Business Network International chapter. Thanks for all the help and great ideas!

Most of my clients are realtors, so I hope this helps you some and if want to talk more email me (located at the bottom of this answer).

1. MOst of the realtors I know are part of a larger realty group-- Re/Max, Century 21 etc.. which already has their token slogan you usually have to go with.

2. Most realtors in my area are using the Buffini coaching techniques to help with customer service, client appreciation (if I misspell, I've been working on a website for two days) back to the point. I've seen how that has really helped them in their client to realtor relations.

3. Have you thought of or do you have a booklet for your buyers and sellers that gives them information geared toward the buying or selling of a home, information about who you are and what you want to do for them?

4. Do you have a system set in place where you regularly speak to, drop by gifts, or write to your clients that have already purchased or sold homes and to those who are interested?

5. Do you have a customer survey to get feedback about your work and what your clients actually think about you?

I'm asking you all this because you haven't stated if you already do these things. If you don' t, these are things that you need to think about doing. I work with 5 successful realtors, ALL of them do at least 4 out 5 of these. 2 of them do all five and you can really see the difference in their client to realtor connection. It's not always about the tagline, especially in this type of business. Email me if your interested in learning more or would like some help. wheatlam@amwassistants.com or check my website www.amwassistants.com

I am with you on the over abundance of agents advertising how many homes they have sold or "the million dollar club". To be honest, it makes them sound like they are commoditizing my life. I have always been a firm believer in someone that will find a home for my family that is as unique as we are. I think if you take a match.com approach to the real estate market you will win big and set yourself up as the elite person to work with. It's worked for doctors for years, how many times have you called and been told that a specialist is not accepting any new patients at this time? I don't know about you, but it makes me want to see him more everytime.

I am also part of a larger group. I have been working on the booklet for buyers and sellers. I never heard of the Buffini coaching, but will look it up. No to number 4 and 5. I will start with getting the booklets finished. Then work on a system. Thank you very much for your help.

The match.com approach sounds interesting. not sure how to do that, but will have to work on that. I am in the million dollar club, but don't advertise it on anything. It isn't important to me. The hunt for the perfect home for my client, helping them stay calm through the buying/selling process. Things like that are important to me. It is about them, not me. Alyson, I noticed we are in the same area. Thank you for your help.

I look at you as a different breed of realtor - so maybe you should set yourself apart as such. Maybe something like, "Most Realtors sell houses. I sell homes." That's not excactly it, but something along those lines.

Remember, that you are building yourself up as a brand. So it's crucial that every touchpoint with your clients/prospects reflects that same type of warm feeling.

Hi again! If you email me from my profile, I can explain it further. Great to hear from a neighbor!
