Can anybody please give me their honest opinion about my new business name ?
Friends and family have given me mixed opinions.

The business name is:
Illumination Republic

It is a lighting store, selling all types of interior lighting products.

Thanks for your help !!!!

I personally think it sounds too political. If you wouldn't have mentioned what type of business it was, I'm embarrassed to admit that I wouldn't have made the connection. Just my two cents.

Understanding that we have people from all around the world on this forum, I am sure that for your region the name is viable. However, I like to try to come up with alternative names no matter where I am, even passing an established business.

How about Illumination Connection?

Good Luck and Best Wishes.

Hi i.abdellah,

hope you are having a great day!

A POINT WELL MADE COULD BE A POINT WELL TAKEN...
I must say your name is very open to all kinds of generalities. As described above I was thrown way off when you announced you were a lighting store. Another way to test the validity of what your name pulls is to exam what happens when you put the name in a search engine. Check it out (click here)

This is what you get on Google search engine
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Illumination+Republic&btnG=Google+Sear...

This what you get on MSN search engine
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=Illumination+Republic&Form=MSNH

This is what you get on dogpile which is several search engines rolled into one.
http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/search/web/Illumination%252BRepublic/1/-/...

Well I think you should slowly get the point of what kind of visitors you could attract to your website if you put one in operation. Attracting the right viewers to your name is not totally impossible but it would be a lot easier to make a new name happen in your benefit so much faster. Even an amazing tagline glued to the name would make a huge difference.

Of course we could start giving you a bombardment of new names but the name should really make sense for your viewing audience/customers...almost like a good title for a movie could far out pull too general or too vague a title. I hope you see what I'm saying. I believe your relatives have a relevant point that should be considered. Remember our only real problem in life is our failure to be "MORE Creative" than we’ve ever been. If you “Invent” your opportunity YOU WILL most definitely create your future. Just know that I'm here for you if you need my help. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Your Servant, Deremiah, *CPE (Customer Passion Evangelist)

Hi There,

As you have received so many comments I should recommend you few things. The name sounds like political “Illumination + Republic” ; To be honest I don’t know your background?

As you know great names are a powerful force in the branding, marketing and advertising campaigns of the companies they work for. They differentiate you from competitors, make an emotional connection with your audience, and help to build a brand that ignites the passions of your customers. You need to thing very carefully for long term.

Any way, why don’t you consider few names as below?

• Illumination World
• Lighting Dreams / World
• Lighting Store (Add your lucky name or family name)
• Home lighting store
• Yours Lighting Store
• Lighting Shop

Make it simple to understand not complicated. It will be easy for them to understand and remember!!!

I hope this will help!

Regards,

M Bhor

I like it...but I think "Illumination Nation" or "Illumination Station" rings better.

I love the idea from thomas.c.taylor.

Name:
IllumiNation
(Always capitalize the 'N' in IlluminNation)

Tag:
See The Light?

I think this is perfect. Simple, catchy, and clever.
