Am I The Luckiest Guy In The World Or What..?Premium Member

It seems that besides being the lucky reciprient of letters from rich Nigerians offering me a share of their $ 85 Million, now I have won the British Random Lottery.

I just received a Winning Certificate notifying me that I have won $85,000. And, because of some tax issue, I only have to pay a fee of $5301 to get the money. Douglas Ferndinand - the prize coordinator sent me a check from Valencia Town Center Plaza to cover $2995.50 of the charge. (strangely enough Douglas signs his name John W. Pope and has an office in Canada instead of in Brittan)

I have decided to turn down this lucky offer and instead live out my days as a poor marketing consultant. I am afraid that money will only bring me bad company and unknown relatives asking for handouts...

My question, do you think I am making the right decision?

You think you are lucky. Less than a three weeks ago I won the Mega Trilithic Inter Galactic Council's Planetary Pick a Zillion lottery. Apparently my prize was 43.7 bazillion krupcheks and I only had to pony up a mere $339. 27 to claim my check. Sure enough I sent in my money and less than three weeks later I am in proud possession of my check for 43.7 bazillion krupcheks.

Now my only problem is figuring out a place to cash the check. Apparently the nearest check cashing place which carries krupcheks and is able to convert them to dollars (at a beneficial rate of course) is some 17 lightyears away. Just beyond the planet Zena (home of the last three winning tickets I might add).

You know come to think of it. I can't even remember buying a ticket to the lottery. Maybe it was that time last November when I was abducted by aliens.... Hmmm......

I am with you. I failed to respond to the Nigerian money offer and had to show back up at work! The only good news is that I haven't died from not sending them on to all of my friends and family.

Alyson

PS - Please don't tell me that Bill Gates and AOL aren't going to pay me now either. :-)

The Nigerian offer is well known as the 321 Scheme and can be found on the CIA's website.

I'd ask Douglas Ferdinand to deduct the fee from the check he send you for your winnings. :-)

WHAT DO YOU MEAN???? My money is not coming?? OMG!

I think it was dateline that did a whole "sting" when it came to those emails. And they actually came to meet the guy for money.... I have to wonder how many people get suckered in.
