Best Freebee Ever?
What was the “best” (most fun, memorable...) freebee you ever got from a company at a trade show? Why did you like it? There are so many things out there, I wanted to know what little give-a-way item made you smile.

Have a great long weekend,
Jo

I received a plastic container with Mt. St. Helens ash in it once. I still have it.....

I had my picture taken with Miss South Dakota.. lost it

I recieved a picture of my home town taken from a satelite.. i still have it

I received a laser etched plaque with my name and the promoting companies logo.. I use it as a key chain at my summer house.

All of these no doubt cost less than fifty cents... I have thousands of pens, pocketknives, sticker, blah-blah.. that are basically dumped in my desk drawer or given to little kids in the neighborhood.

Those fold-up wire ones that come in a case are the best frisbees.
The best giveaway might be the light-up noise-making bouncey ball. They've been around for about 6 years, but everyone likes to bounce them.
Everyone likes t-shirts, especially the ones molded into a special shape.
Other cool things I still have around -- pedometers, toolkits, survival kit, compasses, lunchbags & CD cases.

Best Freebie Hummmm? Legal or Not. Well I got a little blackjack expert play card that I've made use of a couple of times. It has actually saved me a couple of times from making silly mistakes. We also bought and gave out little LED flashlights we got for less than $4 and people swear by them.... I don't recommend the little toolkits anymore because you certainly are going to lose it if you get on a plane with it. We gave them out at a technical event and nearly half the guys had to throw them away when they went through security ooops! Luggage tags sound good if they are interesting... Golf stuff is always good even though I do not golf. We get these little golf clips emblazoned with our logo and they are always popular... There is also a little golf ball washer thing that people really like: it is shaped like a softball and you put your logo on it. Made me smile give aways are things like photos with Ed McMahan, Hulk Hogan, and Playboy Bunnies. What they don't come to your tradeshows, then you probably are working in the wrong industry. I am sure somebody out there has more memorable giveaways, if you get some good ones I would like to know too. Phil

ALoha,

I got a slinky once and loved it. It was so cool and I used it kind of like you do those squishy stress relief balls. INstead of squishing if of course, I made it go back and forth in my hands. It was colorful to. THe colors blended from one to the next.

OOoohh how I enjoyed that slinky!

At a show for public administrators, a trash service handed out tiny, bright green trash cans that looked exactly like the trash cans their trucks picked up and dumped. I don't know why, but I loved that thing. Kept it on my desk for years even thought I wasn't in the public works department.

The best freebies I have seen are:

1. Solar powered pocket calculator with metric conversion feature

2. Ball caps

3. Laser pointers

These may seem expensive but they can be planned and budgeted for. Once the word is out they will draw people to your exhibit.

Thanks all. I am a sucker for the little give-a-ways... Don’t tell anyone, but I really like them – like little presents ;-)

My favorites are nicer pens, things I can take home to my kids, business books, and Aspirin Packets (I always seem to have a head ache by the end of a show...)
Thanks for joining my discussion,
Jo

A really nice notepad is always welcome- my college fraternity issued one with our seal and it was a hit among would-be members before their initiations.
Another is the scented foam pads for telephones with a company logo.
I got an interesting pen that doubles as a bottle opener and i still have it even if it already ran out of ink.

My favorite tradeshow give-away? It's a toss-up between the engraved pen (their logo is on one side, my name is on the other) and the monster clip (they are amazingly versatile!). Hmmmm...

I don't get to go to Trade Shows, but we get samples in here all the time. I received a "fold-em-up" ruler. It's the coolest thing ever and everyone plays with it at my work. It's basically a ruler that bends like a puzzle so that you can fold it half the size of itself. I don't care much about the ruler part, but it's definitely my stress reliever.
