Kristitift, welcome to KHE.

Congratulations to you. I have a question, however. Other than the Red River "The Louisiana Boardwalk"..how do you propose to become a 'destination'?

Are you the destination, or is the boardwalk the destination? If it is the boardwalk, and not Destiny, you have different issues. What is the purpose of the "Boardwalk" as a destination?

Is it restaurants, rides?

Please help me to help you.

The Louisiana Boardwalk is a destination in it self, as many tourist come here to shop. I was selected to move my existing Spa "Spa 2000" to this location and to have exclusive rights as the only spa and salon.
However my spa will be a destination day spa and salon.
Hilton Home wood suites hotel will be building on the property just 700 yards away from the front of our facility. They have offered for us to be in the in room directory. We will work in combination to offer guests a weekend package special.
I decided to change the name for our business as this marks our 10 th year in business and Destiny Day Spa & Salon is appropriate for us.

The louisiana boardwalk is an upscale outdoor mall with anchor stores such as The Gap, Bass pro shop, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Timberland, etc.

It is an honor to be able to open for business at this location.

This may help: My phone number is 752-BODY

MY first tag thought was: "Where your body is meant to be"

"Where every body is meant to be"

OK, kristitift, I have been thinking for hours about this, and have come up with:

Destiny Day Spa & Salon
For Every Body

Destiny Day Spa & Salon
Where Your Body Meet Your Soul

Destiny Day Spa & Salon
Body and Soul...Together

Following your criteria, this is a tough one. I hope you have found something you like, or that you have gotten your creative gray matter moving in the right direction.

All the Best.

Do a 3 question survey 1) Be, 2) Do, 3) Have

Have your clients answer the questions you design around the above premise. LISTEN carefully to their answers. Write down the key nouns and phrases answered. Tabulate the answers. The word or phrase with the highest number WRITES YOUR PROMO FOR YOU. Its magic.

Spa and saloon is meant for refreshment, cleanliness etc etc. It’s also meant to create a New YOU in YOU (Customers), it has to be something spiritual when your customers get your service.

Why don’t you try some of these?

Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Dignify your body and Soul
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Rejuvenate to stand out of rest
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Hottest SPA at your service
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Get the Blond look to your body and Soul
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Unmatched Style
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: To rejuvenate your body and Soul
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Get ready to polish
Destiny Day Spa & Salon: Make you feel Warmth

Kristi,
I actually really like the "where every body is meant to be"...I feel that people will find it clever and a little comical at the same time. It goes right along with your name of Destiny, and the boardwalk is a vacation spot that people want to go to when they need an escape. I really think that you should stick to your original tag line.

I think that Randall's sentence:

Destiny Day Spa & Salon
For Every Body

is great!

You can add promise of Your services, like:

Destiny Day Spa & Salon
For relaxing

Destiny Day Spa & Salon
Give good time for Your body

DDS&S
Destiny for Your body

DDS&S
Destiny to get relaxed

Now I have got feeling to visit and enjoy Your service ;-)

Greetings,

Great to see another Louisiana business up and thriving. East New Orleans here and I know the area you are in very well. Just at Bass Pro about a month ago!

Louisiana women love a great play on words or just a up front tagline. Us Louisiana redisidents love a proud southern owned establishment.I would try something similar to these

-It's time for your break

-Relaxing never felt so good

-Just relax, it's your destiny

-Royal treatment is everyone's destiny

-Your Destiny is right off the boardwallk

-The Louisiana Boardwalk never had it so good

-Your destiny awaits you

-Your body has been asking about us

-The right touch makes all the difference

-Where your destiny leads you

-Where southern beauty find it's destiny

Just some ideas, hope it helps,

Shannon D

I like tying in the Boardwalk to your tag... it lets people know where to find you.

Destiny Day Spa & Salon:
Another reason to visit the Louisiana Boardwalk
You'll find your destiny on the Boardwalk
Enjoy a day on the boardwalk
A perfect compliment to a day at the boardwalk
Relax on the Louisiana Boardwalk
Pamper yourself at the Boardwalk

Good Luck,
Jo

I really want to stay away from using the word destiny in my tag line as this sounds redundant.

I would use the louisiana boardwalk in my tag line but the owners have talked about franchising in the future.
The other properties are not called LA boardwalk.

I want the tag line to stop someone in their tracks and say to them selves " I really need to be there"

Great responses: I am not hooked totally yet.

Hey Idea! check out my web site for SPA2000 and maybe there will be something there.

Hello Kristi

I would like to volunteer my humble brain share. Would you like to enlighten me to some of the USPs of ur spa? Reason I'm asking is that would like to craft the tagline more in sync with ur USP, given u will hv a competitor' coming in your neighborhood.

As as start, below please find some top of mind thoughts:

Take hold of you Destiny

Get the Best of Both Worlds (pun intended : shopping + spa ; spa + salon)

A Day in Heaven on Earth

Just my two cents...

You could use a "boardwalk" tag for now and change it if needed in the future.... (it is Ok to update a tag line every few years) When you have a great upscale location, I would capiltalize on it.

Your website -- www.spa2000.org -- "Spa" ?? I felt garbled in a way that I should dress sexy & party on.

The tag lines above are brilliant. Choose from these pros!!

But may I be so bold as to suggest a more subtle color invitation on the front web page? (Or is this a temporary site til you move to the Boardwalk?) It's not my intention to start a new topic or throw your initial request off focus, however, as you glance at or study the below overviews on color, be aware of them & check out other Spa webpages for the soft, inviting, safe, professional spa environments & position your business branding with that aesthetics field.

The principles of color depth, color harmony and color association are invaluable tools for forwarding your message. According to marketing research, there is a whole index of emotional responses to colors. For example, blue is usually associated with knowledge or serenity; yellow is mostly associated with value and red prompts impulse buying. (I saw your red "Hot")

Well
Kathy You seem to be somewhat of a B
I happened to have built the web page myself, I have no prior experience in web building. YOU see I worked 3 jobs to keep get my business off of the ground in 1996, i pinched pennies here and there. But here i am, you see what you dont know is my Destiny Site is being profesionnally designed now as we speak. I asked for you and your other members to check out my site to gather information about our services and who we are, not to judge my web site.
If my site sucks so bad, why do i generate well over $3000 monthly on my giftcertificate sales?

I have been the Premier Day Spa in Bossier City Since 1997. We have completely remodeled a 1920 historical downtown building and brought life to a downtown area forgotten about.
I am more than stunned at your remark.
Unprofessional is not the word for your input, so may be in the future keep your opinions in line with the question asked.
And if you listen closely you will understand I have been at my current location for 10 years under the name SPA 2000, we provide catering to a high end client base, wedding parties, birthdays etc.
IN the STATE of LOUISIANA we have strict rules and regs about the way we perform business.
I am one of the top 5 Medical Massage Therapists in this area and receive referrals from many doctors as well as my additional staff.
Our concept of Being a "SPA" is real......
We offer water therapies such as whirlpool, steam and other qualifying therapies.
I am offended greatly that someone from this site would offer such comments to a business that has been successful as we have.
The Point to the REQUEST for a tag line is because The Louisiana Boardwalk Choose us out of 17 other facilities and invited us to move and pay close to a quarter of million dollars for our build out to move to the location.
If you are so SPA savvy lets see it.
Other wise you do not deserve points of any sort and you should consider a lesson in helping others not humiliating them.
GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL

Dear Kristift,

I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE IF I SAID SOMETHING BAD. PLEEEEEZE FORGIVE ME!!!!

I visited the site again and I swear it is changed from whatever I saw before. I really like your work and what you do or I would never have chimed in on this thread; and it was my intent to help not betray. May you and your staff continue to do great things. I was actually one of the Volunteer Ministers that came to New Orleans to give assists during Katrina. I am not a B! If you want I can send you the dvd's I produced on color.
