Got A Tagline Concept - Need The Right Words!
Posted By: KSA on 10/23/2006 2:52 PM (CST) 1000 Points
I'm working with a real estate team, and I think we've got a good idea for a tagline, but I'd really like your collective creativity to help put the idea into the right words.

The idea for the tagline is this: the team excels at making sure a real estate contract moves smoothly to close. They don't rely on all the people who are involved in the transaction to do their jobs - they make sure they do their jobs.

The team thinks of itself as the glue that holds the transaction together. So, I've been playing with ways to make that into an effective tagline. I'm not sure that using the word glue is the best approach. Another problem is that it seems like you need to mention that you need glue to hold the transaction together, but then the tagline gets really long.

Smith Realty Group
We’re the Glue from Contract to Closing

Smith Realty Group
The Glue that Holds Your Transaction Together from Contract to Closing

So, maybe it would be better this way:

Smith Realty Group
Holding Your Transaction Together from Contract to Closing

It seems like a good concept, but I'd really appreciate some other ideas on how to say it!

We're the "Glue that "Binds" your contract and "Seals" your Closing.

I tought of this one and can't think of any others.

Remember to ask the question - what is most important to the end-user? The response above is hitting it right with "ease" - the end-user doesn't care about "glue", they care about what that glue does for them. You may want to take it even a step further and make it about what the end result is. If it's for residential buyers, get creative:

End-result:

Smith Realty
Where you want to be. Faster.

Position:
Smith Realty
No one closes faster.

Service:
Smith Realty
From contract to closing to LIVING.

Jade, Jay and RB - Thanks for the quick responses, and I think you're all on the right track - and RB, you described it perfectly.

I've been so muddled up with this, I just got in a rut. Keep 'em coming if anyone has other ideas. The team does focus on residential.

Thanks again. I love this forum!

I like the first idea without any changes

signed, sealed, delivered.

which is a legal term used at the end of a contract prior to a signature (as well as a song).

Says it all in the "Delivered"

And you can use it in other ways

Another home signed, sealed, delivered by the Smith Group.

Kym

Smith Realty
-From contract to closing and everything in between
-From contract to closing, we do it all for you
-From contract to closing, going the extra mile for you

The last two have more of an emotional ring to it.

Hope this helps!

I don't like the "Glue" thing. People buy emotionally, so you have to engage them on an emotional basis, I like Jades response, because it starts to engage clients on that emotional level by using "No hassle", no-one wants hassle when moving, so it works well.

Smith Realty Group
No hassle - no fuss real estate closings

You could make a killing and get more that one EMOTIONAL term into the line:

Smith Realty Group
No hassle - Your Home is our Priority

Whatever you decide, the best of luck

All the best to you. Since I just "closed" recently on my most recent property transaction, perhaps it is fresh in my mind as to what a consumer what's and needs.

I do feel that you need to set yourself apart from the herd in this business. However, most customers don't know how awful the closing experience can be until they have done it and it wasn't simple.

So, that being said, think about that customer - the one what has done this before. They want reassurance from you that things will go well. Hence the ideas I posted.

I like the 100% customer service note because it is what matters to the customer. I also like the "managing paper, people ..." because that is what it is all about.

All the best to you in your decision. Let us know what you might decide!
