Dvd For Chiropractor - Good Survey Questions
Posted By: KathySmithFilms* on 11/10/2006 2:07 PM (CST) 1000 Points
Hello MarketingProf Experts,

I am about to release a DVD for a Chiropractor for use as an educational tool for his clients and potential clients. The DVD is based on enlightening people on what a Chiropractor does and maintaining health.

This is the website to help on survey questions:
http://www.chiromatrix.com/Chiropractic_Website_Spine_Simulator/nerve_chart...

What are 2 or 3 good survey questions to ask and from doing this I can design a cover.

Thank you for your input.

Hi JoMasterson,

My first trip out I targeted open cafe's on Franklin & on Vermont in Hollywood; and mainly got response from various people that to me were approachable. The ages looked to be more 20-40.

My second time I went to a college campus & got better results with this age range. Then on my third time out I went on the sidewalks at a local church & got more spiritual answers that dealt with health consciousness.

So far the answers came up to quality, affordability, safe and have solutions that don't make one have to keep going endlessly.

I had a few rejections, some people in fear and 2 people didn't believe in this way of healing. I feel the target market so far are the college & working class. Hope this helps put more light on designing more questions.

Thanks,
Kathy

Chiropractic Questionnaire

1) How are the functions of the Human Body controlled and coordinate?

Brain ____ CNS (central Nervous System)____
our minds____ don’t know_____

2) What does the neural network in our bodies do?

Send/ receive electrical impulses_______
Warns us of danger _____
Helps the body to learn ____
Don’t know _____

3) Interference of stress in the nervous system may create health problems
True / False

4) How much do you know about the central nervous system? On a scale of 1 to 5 1 being the most and 5 the least

1___ 2___ 3___ 4___ 5____

The best way to create a questionnaire is to make a small one first. This is called a Pilot study. The pilot study will help you understand:
1) What language to use in your questionnaire, if it needs to be technical or in layman’s terms?
2) How long to make your questionnaire, a few questions or pages and pages?
3) Should you include open ended questions?
4) Should you target your questionnaire to a specific demographic?
5) How will you distribute your questionnaire? By email, by mail, stand in a shopping mall and ask people as they pass by? On the street? At doctor’s offices?
6) Finally the pilot will help you understand exactly what types of questions you need to include, very generalized or specific?

Once you have the pilot study you can then embellish and expand accordingly.
The pilot questionnaire needs to be conducted using few candidates but from a large sampling base so you can get a bird’s eye view of the universe population.

The above four questions are suited for the Pilot study questionnaire.

Regards,

Patrick A.

Hi Patrick A, Thanks!!! For being so generous. This is like the "Really Find Out" from Wall Street type questions. I am going to start creating questions based on your technique. This is exciting. I look forward to going out again & wearing out a pair of shoes surveying.

If someone just has a question they were curious about in terms of chiroprator--even just one--I am curious what it would be too.

Hello,

It is my understanding that you want to find out what would attract people in a DVD cover, if this is right , I would find out what are the physical complaints that people most want a solution to.... ( that relate to Chiropractors) I would also identify fears or concerns. I would then use this info in my marketing to focus on strong areas of need that could motivate someone to want to learn more, as well as addressing common fears people have.

For example:

What are your greatest health related concerns? ______

Which reason(s) would most likely convince to seek medical/? help?
-Pain
-Change in ability to do/enjoy daily activities
- Desire to increase overall health
- Graceful Aging
- (others appropriate concerns)

Do you have concerns about visiting a Chiropractor? What are they?

Hope this helps,
Jo

Jo,

The patient is the public. Thanks for setting it straight and putting the focus in. Your questions put the emotion there. It is on target.
That is the track to be on for questions.
If others want to add to Jo, I will keep this open a bit longer.

Hi Kathy,

I live on the East Coast -- only in the past few years have we seen an increase in chiro activity. I myself only went to a Chiropractioner while desperately seeking non-medicated relief for sciatic pain (pregnancy induced). I was lucky to find a young Dr. who believed in helping the patient relieve the pain and moving them elsewhere if it was a chronic type pain. I saw him for a few weeks only -- it was non-invasive and relaxing. Those were my concerns as someone who hadnt seen much in the way of informative marketing about Chiropractic measures -- #1. Will it help relieve the pain? #2 Is it non-invasive? (shots, medication) #3 Is it something that I will have to continue indefinately? #4 And this one lends itself to some pre-conceived notions --- Is it a professionally accepted way of treating someone?
I hope this helps!

Seem to be a lot of issues here:

- creating a survey
- designing a cover
- enlightening potential patients

I've never seen a chiropractor, and have no idea if I should.

To me, the issues would be:

- Is it safe? (Is this person any good?)]
- Are they a "real doctor" ?
- Can it help?
- How can I know if I should see a chiropractor?
- Will I need to go every week forever?
- Will this be covered by insurance?

I'm on the east coast, where we are not quite so "enlightened" about holistic medicine and all that. There is an underlying fear that a chiropractor who does not know what they are doing can make things much worse instead of better.

To me, the time to do the survey would have been before creating the video... rather than (if I'm understanding this correctly) before designing the cover.

If the educational video is completed... do you have to do just one single cover? Couldn't you do a couple covers,
focusing on different topics, for the same video, and see which ones folks pick up? Eventually - could you use some "core" material but produce some specific videos on, say, pregnancy, auto accidents, elderly, carpal tunnel, stress, whatever? Good luck.

Kathy, I live near the fountainhead of Chiropractic Medicine.
Here are some thoughts for your survey.
I believe you need to divide your survey respondants into 3 groups...
1) believe chiro will help with back aches
2) believe chiro will help with back muscle issues
3) believe chiro will improve overall health

The questions can then move forward from there.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for inviting our questions. As I've never been to a chiropractor, my first q would be 'What's the main benefit of seeing a chiropractor'? I guess that's the main idea behind your dvd - educating people. Also, as I'm still young and not concerned with my overall health, is there a specific age when you should consider seeing a specialist? Do I need to be in pain to see one?

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Dare4More

Its alternate medicine so comes with its own set of pre conceived notions:unconventional, unorthodox, unproven, complementary, innovative, integrative being a few of them.
Seperate the positves from the negatives- highlight the positives on the cover.
Have information booklets disseminating information reducing the negatives inside the DVD jacket.

Common & Chronic are 2 of the reasons why people seek chiropractors- they are tired of the niggling and all-time pain. So apart from promoting the chiropractor you shd also consider adding the practical strategies for self-care and prevention.

While medicine is a science you can market this DVD as The Art & Science of Healthy Living.

Positive Thinker - I understand what you went through. When you find one your can work with it's amazing. I want others to get the education I got from filming. I got my back healed in 3 sessions which was inspired me to get more data and film this guy. He does things the old fashion was with no tools--just the correct tech with his hands & leverage. Anyway I am most definately going to use your questions.

telemoxie - I have about 10 hours more footage just for questions that my basic filming missed. I have the rough cut just to get the story and sequence in order to a point if I understood it as a novice, my audience would hopefully. Before I filmed I went out with two college interns and that opened the door to filming; but nothing like what you guys here. I'm beside myself. This is like opening a present!! These new questions are way more relevant and a completely different level. If I need to go back for pick up shots, the Dr. I filmed will even wear the same shirt if I need continuity. Thanks for being a friend on this.

Frank Hurtte - I am a fan of your website. I feel like I found my long lost brother & we never met. So that's where the fountainhead flows from. Marketers here are making a lot of money helping this profession. That is not a generality. I am using your questions.

Dare4More - Thanks for helping out on this educational DVD. This is primarily what it's about - and it answers everything your suggested.

shghash - I have been through the negatives & when I found a few good ones, I knew I needed to take responsibility and get a DVD out there. One of the chapters covers stripping away the myths and what to look for and ask before signing up. This is very important data and I like the bonus tag.
