Hi gang. I was just reading Ann's "A Note to Readers" in this morning's issue of MarketingProfs Today. It made me feel all warm and cheery to see my colleagues' inventory of things they are grateful for.

See today's newsletter here:
http://www.marketingprofs.com/webnews/6/news11-21-06_0.asp

Then I thought: "Why not go bigger? Let's make a LONGER list of people/events/circumstances/stuff that make us feel good?" The more, the merrier. It's bound to be inspiring. We'll create a VORTEX of positive energy!

OK, maybe I'm getting a little carried away. ;)

But please play along. Share a couple of things you're thankful for. I know it sounds like a silly exercise. But once a year really isn't too often to reflect on those things that make us happy. And remember, reflecting on them is usually enough to generate ANOTHER big dose of happiness all by itself. :)

Best,

Val

Great idea Val! I am thankful for the ongoing product development of MarketingProfs because it allows us to deliver the best product in the market to our readers and corporate clients! I’m also thankful for my dog Bentley, because he makes me laugh when no one else can (that’s what basset hounds do best) and my horse Galahad because he allows me to love on him and enjoy the outdoors.

"We'll create a VORTEX of positive energy!" Yes, great idea!

I am thankful for the loves I have in my life:

My 83-year-old mother who was 3 months away from dying of cancer 2 years ago and is now healthy and living independently.

My 3 sisters and 1 brother. My dad's death and my mom's illness brought us even closer than ever. Our parents taught us to stick together (though miles apart), and they gave us the gift of laughter.

My husband and my 20-year-old daughter. A little family, big on love.

My sister-in-law who is like a sister to me.

Our Welsh Terriers who give us unconditional love and make us laugh every day.

-- May you all have a loving holiday season,
karen

Am thankful for having family to love and accept me. Having control of my senses and having a job that even if does not satisfy me- at least pays me the money that allows me to pursue activities that do.

I am thankful for beautiful moments in my existence & friends.
Artists believe that by using what they know about aesthetics, beauty and truth they can help themselves and others with the problems of living.

An imagination captured by art is immune to much of that ordinary discouragement and purposelessness that everyone feels from time to time.  Witness the latest hit film which, for days in advance created mammoth anticipation, hope and interest.  Millions flock to enjoy works of art which make them feel part of something, help them imagine different, more purposeful and effective living, or just help them reject, as with laughter, the evil and unpleasantness of the world.

And of course, that we are able to help expand through Marketing Profs to make the world a better place, is an amazing communication tool.
Thank you staff,
Kathy Smith

I am thankful I don't get asked this question every year. Oh the pressure!
OK, I'm thankful for working with colleagues who challenge me, make me laugh, and get (most of) my jokes. I'm thankful that MarketingProfs is pioneering, so my job is never boring. And I'm very thankful for my close friends and family, who no matter how much I ignore them, they are all still there for me when I need them. How great is that?

I am thankful for family. Two deaths have happened in my family this year, a grandmother and a cousin. This really isn't a cherry subject, but be thankful for your family. Spend as much time with them as possible. The holidays may be the last time you see them.

I’m healthy now after a very bad illness, a lot of my previous wishes have come true like the job I have its very challenging and very open to life, relations, experience and knowledge…

Its been a good year, full of appreciation and progress...

Thank you all for the positive thinking

I am thankful for the tireless dedication of the staff at SELMARQ who spent countless personal hours throughout the month of November (including Thanksgiving!) to ensure that the ProMat 2007 Directory of Exhibits was completed (and accurate!) for the printer and the client. Without Andrea, Ailene, Walter and especially Michele, this feat would have been impossible! Thanks, Team!

What a great idea!!!! Well, this is kind of a hard question, because I am thankful for so much! First and for most I want to thank God for everything he has done in my life. Without him I might not be breathing, and I might not have the things that I have. Next I am thankful for my family and friends, I don't know where I would be without them, they are my life! And one of the most important things to me in this world are animals. Especially my pets. I currently have 3 horses, 1 dog, 3 cats, and 3 rabbits. I could not live without any of them. They are my heart and soul. Especially one of my horses, that saved me from the deep dark part of the world. But animals in general, are what make me, me. They are the best creation God made, besides human beings. And to end there, I just am thankful for life! And it is good to realize what we have sometimes, because many people are not as fortunate as us. Thanks for posting such a wonderful question!!!!

I'm thankful the creator made me for eternity. I'm thankful he didn't create us as robots and I have a free will of choice...although I'm a nerd and probably act like robot!

I'm thankful that I found the way that assures me that I spend eternity in heaven and not that other hot place.

Merry Christmas to all and happy new year.
