Check out this doorway page and tell me if you see any mistakes or if it has "shifted" to fit your computer screen (which may jumble things).

Provide me with any feedback you may have or any errors that you may see.

Thanks in advance.

Shift when viewing in IE7 vs. FireFox. The Welcome on the left side is top aligned in IE7 but looks like a center align
in FireFox. Which effect where you going for?

Side note, if you have a large image that is dominating the page, I would make it of a higher quality. Your image is very grainy looking and takes away a bit from the site. The image to the right and left also have a grainy look to them. Personally that makes me take your site less seriously and would cause me to leave the site quickly.

There is a white speck & line on the cute little girl's left cheek. Just need a tad more Photoshop. Great otherwise.

Looks fine in FF 2.0, but a couple of other suggestions would be to:

* Promote your brand more on the front page. It is lost in the picture
* Give a better description of what you do (are you a phone company or a travel agency?)
* Create a order to you page, at the moment I'm not exactly sure where to look first, or what is your main focus/goal for the page.

Good luck with it

I can't believe no one has picked up on the obvious yet.

While the site is attractive and appealing to the eyes, two things stand out like a sore thumb:

1. You need a compelling headline - "join my club" just doesn't cut it.

2. You need persuasive copy to convince me to join your club.

I'm sure you'll get some people to join, without those things I mentioned, because a certain percentage of people will join just to get the free gifts.

But without a compelling headline and persuasive copy, you're leaving a ton of money on the table.

Chrissie:
I had problems with both the left and right sides of the home page-- the graphics cover up part of the text. I am looking at the page on a laptop with IE6.

I see several areas for improvement. Dforbes is right on target pointing out the mixed focus and need for more compelling content on the home page. Here are some suggestions:
1. The name of the company needs to be prominent. I did not get that "Good to Go Travel" was the firm name until I looked at your e-mail and saw the GTG in it. I can't decipher the letters next to the logo at the top of the page.
2. Because travel is one of those areas where people can get ripped off or have plans fall through with bad travel agents, you need to devote some space to building trust and credibility before asking people to join a club.
3. The home page implies that you must join the club before entering the site. That would cause many people to leave the page without going further.
4. It would be great to have some kind of navigation on this page-- especially "about us." If this is not really a home page but just a "gateway" page, then I would seriously consider deleting it and just having a bona fide home page.
You have an attractive graphic and it sounds like an attractive product. You just need to re-think the focus on this page and design it from the perspective of a visitor who knows nothing about who you are or what you do. Good luck!

There is no dynamic reason for me to provide you with my important information, just to join club and enter your site. For me, my family and our travel needs...it has absolutely no value.

What are the incentives to move forward with you? When I visit 5 Star/5 Diamond properties/sites, or even lesser rated...there are substantial incentives for me to participate with them. The best...a property in Mexico gave us hundreds of dollars in incentives, which we were pleasantly surprised, were removed from our bill at checkout. We wondered about that...but, when it happened...WOW.

I don't see that with your site. The market is seeking differentiators. They sign up/in to a lot of sites...many do not pan out well. What is your differentiating factor? Why should I enter your site, become a member? If it is because you are there...I'm afraid this isn't an eField of Dreams.

Thank you all for the constructive criticism. Keep it coming.

I failed to explain on my original posting what the site was about, but it is good to get feedback letting me know that without an explanation the site is not clear.

I am obviously not a web designer. The graphics are lower quality because I was trying to make it download quick for all viewers. (Let me know how long it took to download too, please.)

The primary site is one like Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, etc. Where a person can check out prices and if GTGtravel.com has the lowest, book through GTG.

One of my friends suggested that I make a smaller version of this as a pop up when someone enters the actual home page. I would love to do that, but #1 don't know how and #2 feel that it would get blocked by pop up blockers.

I cannot edit the true homepage, because it does not belong to me, it belongs to corporate.

Thanks for your feedback. Keep it coming!

Chrissie,

I am always leary of a website that requires me to join with my personal information, before I know what the site has to offer. You may want to consider allowing the site visitor to browse a little before requiring them to join. On another note, the page is seen left justified on my pc, with IE7. The grahics are simple and clear, although you may want to use a higher resolution picture.

Chrissie-
It's actually GOOD that you didn't tell us what the site is about beforehand. That way you get totally unbiased reactions, mirroring those of many visitors.

The images are grainy and the larger image is dominating. I think it takes away from the message or the intent of the page and is not inviting. Maybe you can add a flash or two or clear up the pictures a bit. I also think that the newsletter is oddly placed.

Side note, it did not take long at all for the download. It was almost immediate! Good Luck!

Play up the free long distance thing. You need a copywriter which is what I do. Feel free to contact me, I need more info to give you any examples

Visually it's almost there...it's lost in between amateur and professional

Seems easy enough to navigate, but I didn't spend a whole lot of time on it.

Good Luck
