Tagline For New Savings Card Needed
Posted By: supersanek* on 12/28/2006 5:14 PM (CST) 250 Points
This is round 2.

We are launching a new savings card in the area. Our goal is to have one savings card for everything, eliminating the need for coupons, separate store savings cards, etc. Ultimately, we plan to partner up with all major merchants local and national so people can have one savings card they can use to ge the most savings in all of their favorite stores whether small or big.

The card name is: The Max Card

Our current tagline: Smart.Easy.Fun.Savings

Would love to see what you guys can come up with based on the current tagline that we have. We want something more punchier, bolder but still remain similiar concept.

One Card - One Savings: The Max

Hi supersanek

Sounds to me like the core value proposition is you keep the same savings you get now with coupons and individual store cards but you don't have the hassle of clipping, storing and carrying coupons, plus a range of store cards, and monitoring a slew of individual coupon expiry dates.

The Max Card.
More Savings. No coupons. No hassles.

The marketing problem with replacing clipped coupons with an all-embracing loyalty/discount/savings card is that the coupon is an essential communications device used to alert the consumer to a particular brand, and it is through clipping, collecting, carrying and redeeming the coupon that awareness gets built.

You may need to find a way to get to the card user to ensure they know about which brands and products are on sale where and when. This would then close the circle on coupon functionality. This could be through a flyer, newspaper insert, website update or daily e-mail newsletter.

I'm not at all convinced about the fun aspects you're alluding to, though. KHE members outside the US may not be aware of the coupon-clipping shopping mentality. You can often see shoppers in US supermarkets with shoe-box sized coupon wallets searching through the shelves looking for the brands on which they can save with the coupons from the weekend's papers and letterbox mailings.

Things can get very ugly at the checkout if you're behind someone who misplaces a coupon for a fat discount or a "twofer" or "threefer" on an item they've stashed in their trolley, or if they think the checkout sales clerk has not discounted their purchase correctly against the coupon.

It's more grim than fun, in my view. Australian shoppers would probably be placing these experiences into the "Get a Life"category, but hey, USA, it's a national pastime!

Happy New Year to all...

More Savings. No Coupons. No Hassles.

I like that and we may incorporate into of our sub-slogans however still want something that is shorter and punchier but carries the same weight.

Correct, we are replacing the coupons by creating awareness through our website advertising and promoting specials for each store, thus creating a lot more convinience and time. We will be doing daily email blasts to members alerting of featured stores/specials/promotions targeted first to their area then expanding to a larger scope. And we do have a couple more tricks up our sleeves to let consumer get access and keep track of savings and stores and locations.

Coupons are FUN! people feel good about themselves...they feel smart...when using coupons. But they're not "fun" like disneyland...there's no endorphin rush when redeeming...so maybe "fun" isn't a good word for the tagline.

Here are a few ideas...not super...but maybe an idea that someone else can build on.

Make your wallet fat with cash...not coupons.

No-Clip Coupons

Maximum Savings. Minimum Space.

All The Coupons. None of the clipping.

Convenient Clip-less Coupons

Cut the price...without cutting coupons.

HI

Without taking 2much time of urs .Bottom line be consumer r rational and confident with recuq.information .My point....

Tag line as per product should focus on ...

1. Emphasis should be on value for money .(Good deal. Best buy)= Beyond Just saving .Simplicity....+
2. Uniqueness.( in respect of competition)
3. Added features(More value addition as per more usage)
4. Include both sides of the coin( customer+merch.....)
5.

Let us have a look into some of the famous lines both in International and Indian markets and how does they respond

IBM ThinkPad - " I think, therefore IBM" - Here IBM tries to say that if you have the capacity to think then you should go for IBM ThinkPad laptops, the line exactly conveys the message.

Nike - "Just do it” - There is no other better way to boost the self-confidence the way Nike has put through their famous line. Thus the ad line simply communicates that using Nike can improve your performance by enhancing the self-confidence.

Adidas - " Forever Sport" - They wanted to say that whenever you think of sports think Adidas. The line perfectly associates Adidas and Sports.

7-up - "The Uncola" - Perhaps the most talked about line, it gave the brand a distinctive image in the mind of soft drink customers.

American Express - "Don’t leave home without it" - The line has made the card an essentiality of lifestyle. Thus the card directly made a safe place in the wallet of the customer for always.

Heinz Baked beans - "Beanz Meanz Heinz" - The catchy, peppy line is easy to settle into the brain. People can easily relate beans to Heinz.

Philips - "Lets make things better" - Philips wanted its customer to appreciate the quality of the product, which the line defines accurately.

Polaroid ----- “We don’t have negatives" ---- The line itself was boasting about the uniqueness of the product, which the company was trying to position.

Let’s have a look at the national front

Pepsi - "Yeh dil maange more" - Such was the effect of this line that an Indian army captain after winning a battle proudly yelled "Ye dil maange more". What drives us to buy Pepsi or Coke? These lines.

Raymond -"The Complete man" - The line gives the notion that man is not complete unless he wears Raymond. The possession of Raymond is kind of status symbol, the status of acquiring manhood.

Coca Cola -" Thanda Matlab Coca Cola" - People in India generally refers cold drinks as ‘Thanda’. So Coke wanted to give an impression that whenever a customer think of ‘Thanda’, he should think of Coca Cola. So the line makes ‘Thanda’ equal to Coca Cola. Of late, we also have the “Thande ka Tadka”.

Birla Mutual Fund - "The name inspires Trust" - Trust is the basic platform on which mutual fund business works. An investor will invest only in that company in which he has confidence and trust. So the line was directed towards Trust building.

Wills Navy Cut - " Made For Each Other" - The line brings about the brand loyalty by making the customer and the brand close to each other. It suggests that both the entities complement one another.

Most of the above mentioned ad lines are award winners just for the simple fact that they conveyed their brand dead accurately.

I thing now the Picture is clear and definately add value towards ur quest ."( )"
