Posted By: Cyndal8605 on 2/2/2007 11:59 AM (CST) 250 Points
Hi everyone, my name is Cyndal im from texas and I am 21 years old. My mother and I are starting a new jewlery business. I have been handmaking jewelry for about 5 years now with real gym stones and metals and will be teaching my mother how to also.... However I cannot seem to find the right name... If some one could please help me think of a classy name I would greatly appreciate it...

Thank yall so much :)

Cyndal

I especially love helping out Texans.

I think you have the name, but do not recognize it.

Cyndal is beautiful.

Cyndal Custom Gems Collection

I am going to make an assumption that the "dal" in Cyndal means Dallas. I wish you all the best. If there is anything we can do to assist you in your growth, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi Cyndal,

What an exciting thing for you to be doing! I agree with Randall that your name Cyndal might be a very good name for your company. However, I believe his suggestions may be a bit long, and you didn't mention that you'd be doing custom designs. (will you?) Maybe you can just use your name with a tagline that describes your work:

Cyndal
... handmade jewellery to brighten your life.

or
Cyndal's Gems
... handmade creations for every occasion

You said a "classy" name. Does that mean that all your creations have a classy look or are they young, funky, modern or ??? How would you describe the look, and what age women does your work appeal to most? That would help us come up with other name suggestions.

Just to nit-pick a bit...Karen.
Isn't a "handmade creation" the same as a Custom Creation?

If it isn't ... I need to learn the difference.
Thanks.

Fine Hand-Made Jewelry

With a nice logo design and the right color selections I think this name will work well for you, Cyndal.

Randall,

To me, custom means made-to-order for a specific client. Handmade means made-by-hand but could be part of an available inventory-- and that particular design might be made over and over again (albeit with slight differences due to the process), whereas a custom piece would be one-of-a-kind.

Make sense?

I love it all... jewellery is my passion and I believe that every woman has her own beautiful style so I want to be able to design jewellery to match each and every woman's own personal style..

Though I still like using your name, here are a few more ideas. These taglines could also be mixed and matched with other names:

Perfeccion (perfection in Spanish)
... jewellery that speaks your name

Jewels for All
...a style for every woman
or
... custom styles for every woman

Tinsel
... jewellery that makes you shine

Beauti-Jewels
... handmade creations to bring out your best

Adorn
... custom jewellery to complete your look

Hi Cyndal,

I agree with the majority here that "Cyndal" is definitely the name you should choose. I like the idea of using a tagline to describe your offering:

Company Name: Cyndal
Tagline: Handcrafted jewellery with a personal touch

Best wishes on the start of your new business!

The only concern i have with using my own name is that my mom is going to be in partnership with me however i would be the one designing everything... do you think it would be rude to just use my name?

Thanks again

... your mom named you, didn't she? So she likes the name!

Seriously, I think it's very appropriate to use the designer's name. Just ask your mom, and she what she says. You can blame it on us.

Let us know what you decide.

hi cyndal

if u dont wanna listen to Karen's advice, then how about having your family name as the business name, since u dont wanna use ur name for ur partnership with ur mom

"Sparkle"
"Sprakle by (family name)"
"Glitz"

Cyndal Jewelleria : Wow guaranteed.

Cyndarella : fantastic jewellery

Glitteratti : Custom. Jewelry. Style

Hope these are some ideas that can start giving you a direction. And anyways. you can come back for more...

Wow, all these marketers on the site and not one has suggested doing keyword research and including a great keyword phrase in your full name or tag line. That's my recommendation - just make sure you don't choose a keyword that's time-sensitive and likely to lose the interest of the general masses.

Good luck, Cyndal!
