Pasta Dinner Fundraiser Name Needed
Posted By: brendakitchen on 3/12/2007 2:17 PM (CST) 250 Points
Our not for profit organization would like to start hosting pasta dinners the night before some of the races held in the city. We were thinking about names such as "Carbo Load and Fuel Up." But thought we would ask the experts:) What do you think would be a good name for our pasta dinner?

That name MIGHT appeal to people in the race, but I don't think it will really resonate with non-race participants. Maybe something more along the lines of:

Pre-Race Pasta
Dinner with the Racers
Get Fit & Eat Like a Racer

The last one is (admittedly) a mind game - but people buy into it. You've taken the guilt out of eating pasta, and made it sound healthful!

This is a great idea! Hope these are helpful.

Noodles for Energy

Rigatoni for Racers!

Spaghetti for Speed!

Bow tie for the finish line!

Pasta for the Participants!

Noodle Run

Fettuccine for Fun!

The Pasta Bowl!

Good luck with everything!

Pasta Makes You Fasta (couldn't resist)

Your "Carbo Load and Fuel Up" seems very long. How about just:
Carb Fuel Up
or
Pasta Fuel Up

or my favorites:
Carbs to Go
Pasta to Go

The Carbo Load thing you mention could be anything beside pasta - powerbars, etc and more importantly there is nothing "fun" about it.
Here are a few more fun choices"

Pasta Pasta Everywhere, Load it Up Today (tonight).

Pre Race Pasta Bash- the real food of champions

Italian Tonight,Finnish Tomorrow the Language of Champions

The Noodle of Champions PASTA , Load up tonight

Hope this help and give a little different spin.

Pasta la Vista

What a great name ... sounds like fun and you can't help but say it out loud in the appropriate accent.

That would be first past the post for me.

Pasta la Vista

How about

"Pre-Dash Pasta Bash"

And I must credit ethnicomm with part of the title. I like rhymes occasionally and the "Pasta Bash" cried out for one.

mama mia
pasta like mama used to make it

i don't think that pasta is being served at a racetrack is what you should focus in on. focus on the food, that is what you are trying to sell. after all restaurants at airports don't try to sell their food along the lines of

pasta flyaway

they concentrate on their food

I'm a little in agreement with peanutpeanut above and yet not quite. To me, the event is to feed the runners but also provides another way for non-runners to support the cause (perhaps the meal is free to runners, others can purchase tickets to eat). So the idea of a fundraiser, a cause, or the purpose of the meal (to support the run which in-turn supports a cause) should be implied... if not in the name then in the statements to follow...

Spaghetti All Ready!
Get Ready Spaghetti.
Spaghetti fun for the run
Spaghetti Feed for Speed (credit to Brian above)
Pasta Feed for Speed
Feed the Need -- Support our runners and our cause
Pre-run Pasta Event: Eat, greet and feed the need.

What about:
"Pasta for the People!"
"Rigatoni for the Run!" or "Rigatoni for the Race!"

I agree with the comments above that your original is too long... perhaps just stick with "Fuel Up" or "Carbo Load" and then have a tagline...

If you are planning to go for the branding of every prenight of the race, you should just have to add your Organisations name and suffix it with 'Pre Night Bash'.
eg: Brenda's Pre Night Bash - for Walkathon 2007

Here the cuicine isn't important, the activity takes the centre stage.

In another direction, you can try 'Pasta Power Nights', which become the ultimate or only charity pre bash activity before any event/race.
eg: Brenda's Pasta Power Night - for F1, Indianopolis

KUDOS

Lots of fine ones here already. But here are a couple more.

Obviously for lots of reasons, just pick a name you can keep and trot out with minimal adjustment at every different event.

Pasta Power-up
Power Up With Pasta
Eat and Run Pre-Race Dinner
The Pre-Race Pastafest

Although I love 'Pasta La Vista" above (and would add, "Baby" to it) I'm not sure it LOOKS as fun as it SOUNDS, and your utility is very print-dependant, I'd guess.

Proeditor's "Pasta To Go" is clever and simple, so you could add the event after it in each case: "Pasta to Go Pre-Whatever Dinner!"
