Tag Line For Flooring Construction Contractor
Posted By: graphica-design on 3/21/2007 4:43 PM (CST) 350 Points
Hello Members.

I need to create a tag line from a value proposition created by fellow member proeditor.

She produced "We offer peace of mind through service excellence, constant communication and craftsmanship".

Any thoughts on how this can be simplified into a tag line?

Thank you.

Raul, this was a surprise, but thanks for the acknowledgement. How about simply:

Offering peace of mind through service excellence, constant communication & craftsmanship.

It's a bit long, but sometimes that's fine, especially when it's important to convey 3 key ideas. I like including the word communication, because it's not something you often see promised, and it can make all the difference in the world.

or:
Confidence-inspiring service, communication & craftsmanship

Service, communication & craftsmanship. Always.

Where service, communication & craftsmanship make your project go smoothly.

Confidence-inspiring attention to service & craftsmanship.

Although Karen is an excellent writer, and has done a great job ... ...does the tagline have to be so serious?

Could it be:
"Our best customers walk all over us"
or something in that tune?

Raul,

I like BARQ's slogans. As for communication, that's an important selling feature but I'm not sure it's necessary in your tag - kind of takes away from the contracting and turns toward another industry (communications). Funny thing about proclaiming quality and/or value in your tagline or slogan - nearly every builder or contractor claims to offer one or both. Therefore, they have come to be just claims with little real meaning. Who wants to say that they don't build with quality or that they produce poor value? Go for something that says quality or value without using those specific words. For example, saying something like "we install each floor as if we were putting in our own home" or "we treat your new floor as if it were ours" gets the point across without belaboring it.

I guess I have a slightly different perspective on this, because Raul (indie-design) and I have emailed each other off forum. Also, I followed the discussions in his http://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/qst_question.asp?qstID=17245 and other posts.

But I am a little confused, Raul. I think your questions have all been about one customer of yours, but are they a showroom, an installer, or both? And I thought they did more than just floors? (The "communication" idea is less important if the job is only a floor as opposed to a whole remodeling project).

Anyway, I believe there is a place for catchy taglines and a place to just really communicate briefly what the customer gets from a service company. You got lots of catchy flooring ideas from one of your previous questions, and that didn't seem to be what your client wanted. So remembering that, I've given you not necessarily catchy. Because I've just dealt with an awful contractor on my kitchen remodel, next time I don't want to hear catchy -- I want to know that they are going to be easy to deal with and provide me with a great result.

In choosing a contractor for my next project, I'd choose one:
"Where service, communication & craftsmanship make your project go smoothly"

Hello Members.

Thanks for the replies.

As Karen mentioned, this is a little complex. This client owns a interior showroom where materials and products are offered. This was the first brand identity. Now, we are working on the second brand identity...the construction and installation portion of it. You should see the office manager trying to do billing and expenses...its a whole production.

Get ideas so far. I will take what I have and discuss with client. But...keep'em comin'.

This is not a suggestion, but I swear the flooring installer in my area that put flooring in my new home used:

We only lay the best.
HA!

OK, really the only thing I can think of right now is:

We stand on our reputation, and so do you.

Hello Fellow Members.

I want to thank you for your patience on this subject. There are many stakeholders to discuss these ideas with, but they have finally selected on a tag line.

They those the tag line offered by kathysmithcasting: "Beauty from the group up". The clients thinks this will work well with the name, Galaxy Marble, but still allow for future growth with potential interior renovations. Anyways, thank you all for taking time from your already busy schedule, and helping me on my projects. So I have rewarded everyone who participated. Thanks.

Will post another question shortly.

Sincerely,

Raul
