Name For Online/ebay Business - Girls' Clothing
Posted By: sheeleyfamily on 3/28/2007 5:57 PM (CST) 125 Points
I am slowly started an ebay business for gently used children's clothing and handmade boutique items like hairbows and tutus. I've searched google and ebay, and all the good names are taken!! I need help with a name and tagline. I like cutesy, like Sugar and Spice or Tickle me Pink. I'll focus on girls' items, so really feminine ideas are OK. I'd love to incorporate a nursury rhyme, song, character. I'm open to any and all ideas.
This is my list so far:
Just a Girl
Spoil Me Rotten
Sugar and Spice
Starlight Starbright
FridaysChild
Butterflies and Bumbleebees
Playground Princess
Sunbeams and Daydreams
Boutique Pink
In the Pink
Tickle Me Pink
Pink Confetti
Raining Pink
Sassafras

Thanks so much!
Sara

Hi,

Just to clarify -- are all of those you listed already taken?

Here are a few that appear to be available:

Taffeta & Tutus
Taffeta Tutu
Pink Tutus
Joli Rose (pretty pink in French)
Lavender Child
Pink Lilacs

Cheers!

Hello again. Sorry, I forgot that you also asked for taglines. Here are two different approaches:

catchy: "Because Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
descriptive: "Handmade or Gently Used Pretties"

And a few more name ideas with tags:

Storybook Girls
...pretty things used once upon a time

Dorothy's Slippers
... tutus and bows and clothes, oh my!

It seems that Ariel, Belle, Cinderella and Aurora are pretty much overused.

Proeditor,

This is how my ideas break down:
Not Used
Just a Girl
FridaysChild
In the Pink
Pink Confetti
Raining Pink
Sassafras

USED
Spoil Me Rotten
Sugar and Spice
Starlight Starbright
Butterflies and Bumbleebees
Playground Princess
Sunbeams and Daydreams
Boutique Pink
Tickle Me Pink

Most on the not used list aren't any good.... I like Jolie Rose, that's cute! How would "Pretty in Pink" translate? I like the catchy tagline, too.

PeanutPeanut,

Pretty in Pink is so simple and classic, and surprisingly not taken. I'm not sure that is exactly right though. Can anybody add a catchy tagline or something to make it a little more spunky?

Poeditor,
Sorry, I missed Dorothy's Slippers. I'm from KS, so this is kind of growing on me. Maybe something like Pretties for Dot or Pretties by Dot, or any Wizard of Oz spinoffs.

Hi again,

I hate to say this, but if you type in prettyinpink.com, you'll get redirected to a porn site! Isn't that strange? Also, my search revealed several eBay stores with "Pretty in Pink" in their names.

Pretties for Dot and Pretties by Dot are very cute. Were you thinking of the fact that the witch calls Dorothy, "My pretty?" You would need a tagline reminiscent of the Wizard of Oz, because people won't recognize "Dot" instead of "Dorothy." But that's OK. I like the "Oh my" one I suggested above, but you could also do something with "over the rainbow" or the word "wonderful." I can't think right now, because I've got my mind on packing for a flight in a few hours. So you won't hear from me for a few days, even if I get an inspiration!

Good luck,
karen

I'm thinking that a Wizard of Oz name is the way to go. Anything that I come up with that cutesy and girlie is either taken, or really bad. I'm really not good at this.... My names overnight where "Dorothy's Dream," "Dot's Designs" or "Designs by Dot", or "Dorothy's Designs," or "Designs by Dorothy." My tagline ideas, "Not just for Kansas girls," or "I'll get you pretty." I'm not making bows yet, so "Tutus and bows and clothes, oh my" won't work yet... But I like the "Oh My" idea. Thanks for all the great suggestions!!!

Some terrific ideas on the table for you Sara. I'll bet your head is spinning.

The logo looks pretty good.

Dress Up where I come from (not America) means kids dressing up in costumes / mums dress / dads shoes etc to create comic characters / fashion parades etc.

Pink Dot Girl would be my 'best of the bunch'. It's definitely girly but a lot more edgy than Dorothy's Dress Up.
