Where Should We Distribute A New High End Magazine

We are an art gallery that has come out with our own magazine introducing artistic living at the beach. The magazine has artist interviews, photos inside million dollar homes with our artwork on the walls, recipes from famous restaurants, and wine suggestions to pair. This is our first try at it and we have printed 500 high end, glossy magazines. Where are some places we should target for distribution? Thanks!

    I'm guessing you want to sell art and not the magazine and you're actually giving the magazine away.

    I'd try private gyms/spas, hair salons, hotels, upmarket car dealerships, private clinics, airport lounges - generally anywhere your target art buyer might pick up something and browse it. If it's good quality then the locations won't mind something out of the ordinary for their clients to browse.

    Ok I am going to steal a great idea I saw in action. I saw an Art gallery set up during open houses in a new condo community. This was great. So here is my suggestion (short of setting up in a new home community) distributing in open houses is great. Do you have any realtor friends? If you can partner up with a high-end agent, professional stager and/or interior designer, you can cash in on potential buyers who might be nearing a buying cycle. (new home new art.)

    And I agree with the top poster on the spa/gym/hotel. It would also be good to distribute in office buildings in your local financial district or near the commuter news stands out side of the train/subway/whatever. Also try and leave your magazine in the upscale commercial districts coffeeshops, casual restaurants, boutiques, and realtor offices. (Whatever shops your target customer frequents)
