In addition to telling us what you plan to sell in your store, let's focus on who your primary target audience will be, what needs you're addressing, and how the target audience views the needs in this category.

What is your competitive advantage? Why should someone buy from you instead of from a competitor?

When you go through this pre-positioning process, you'll find that the products you plan to sell probably appeal to a few different audiences, and that's going to be a problem. You want your name to be very specific to the target audience and the main benefit you're going to deliver to them. You don't want to be "Acme Cosmetics and Lumber Yard."

Start with the positioning and marketing plan. If you do that, and do it well, the naming exercise will go a lot smoother. You'll be able to tell us what the criteria are for selecting the right name, and that will help us do a better job of coming up with the right one.

I like all of the suggestions.....how about "The Kupcake Kowgirl"??

we plan to sell rhinestone/western/cowgirl bling jewelry, some rustic/western home decor and accents as well as several custom-made baby and kids items including burp cloths, bedding, embroidered items, bags and hairbows. A weird combo of items.....I know....

The store is locted in a small town of middle to upper class. Our expected target market is womens from the ages of 25-50 or so....

Any more suggestions??? What do ya'll think about

Kupcake - despite the spelling makes me think you're a bakery in a town in Texas or Oklahoma (nothing against that!).

    How about
High Plains Gifter (not really, but had to throw it out there to get a groan, or hopefully a slight chuckle from somebody).

So often we seem to look for "cute" names. It struck me recently that the retail stores that survive (not a high percentage) do not have "cute names." Granted there are exceptions - Toys R Us for example. However, the stores that seem to have staying power are often names. JC Penney's, Sears, Dillards, Macys, etc. Of course, as previously noted, there are exceptions.

This probably does not help you, however, it is something I had to throw out there.

In a smaller community you might find that success increases with a name that people can associate with someplace or someone. Maybe it's not your name, but the name of the community, street, a local landmark, etc.

    Good Luck!

HaHaHa! Ironically, we are in Texas!! I thought of maybe using the name of the town, but its weird and a bit long. We initally plan to sell our goods out of a small coffee shop but emphasize our own "online store".

I thought maybe the "Kupcake" would make people think of baked goods, but I also thought it was cute... The kids/baby items that we would sell wouldn't necessarily be cowboy/western/rustic themed...

I am open to any other suggestions!!! Thanks!
