Hi Smartmart,

Effective Cascading of fast changing info updates ....

I presume the question is "How to manage and Monetise" this fast generation information by:

1. Aggregating information buildup
2. Structuring this free information into knowledge
3. Distributing this above knowledge to stake holders etc
4. Effectively fixing Valuations to this knowledge
5. Finally Monetising this knowledge in the market place

The Monetising of knowledge in the market place could be either through the CRM route, Customer care, Collaterals, Customer acquisitions, etc etc.

Now unless this monetising of Organization Knowledge is factored in, the investments in KM Initiatives would not prove worthwhile.

This above monetising can be done only if the same is vouched by the various "Tiers" of management and conciously benchmarked as Monetisable Knowledge.

http://www.cio.com/research/knowledge/measure.html would throw more light on the past and current initiatives in this areas.

Today many large enterprises, NGOs and Governments have been developing and implemented Open Source CMS solutions tigtly integrated with back end systems and extended to communities delivering effective and efficient Knowledge Aggregation and Distribution systems.

Hope the above throws some light....

Regards
CK

Hello smartmart

Effective cascading of information in large office--in fast changing environ--through series of mgt. tiers

I'll try an answer!

Information generated goes waste if not harnessed and managed properly. Modern computing technology just helps us to transfer, move and present information to be made use of effectively and efficiently through various levels of management. The important thing is to design an MIS /MkIS or other information systems. THis helps the organisation make the right decisions at various levels of heirarchy. In fact, the competitive advantage of an organisation is decided by the level and efficiency of information collection (appropriate) and their apt dissemination, both within and outside the organisation.

Modern retail outlets, for example, manage information on the rates of purchases made for all their products by creatively and systematically tying in their sales-stocklevel-vendor-ordermaking-delivery-loading-repacking and presentation information systems. Each of these functions get information from their related functionaries who shares authentic instructions to enable people to 'move' and make the entire organisation work smoothly. If all these functions manned by people, work with 'shared values' the organisation should make profits.

Hope these thoughts help!
