Tesco Discount Brands- Pestel

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am doing a professional diploma in Marketing and am having a tough time with the organisation I have chosen, Tesco. I am focusing on Tesco's discount brands which were introduced last September and need to find info regarding evidence that these discount brands have done well and have proved an increase in demand. I am also having major struggles with doing a comprehensive PESTEL any help at all will be greatly appreciated THANK YOU

    Dear shereen_serry,

Sounds like yet another homework question, which, sadly for you, is against the posting terms of this forum.

Either contact Tesco's marketing department, or pick another grocery store. Were I in your shoes, I'd go with Sainsbury's/

    I hope this helps.

You might want to define some of the unfamiliar names/terms used in your question. That would help us to better help you.

    Phil,

TESCO and Sainsbury's are major UK supermarket chains.

As to the question, frankly if TESCOs are so difficult to get hold of, SWITCH to another brand or retail chain! Cut your losses and MOVE ON. As a lesson, it's taken me decades to learn this.

Cut your losses and move on. If this means rewriting things, rewrite it. Make it better.

    I hope this helps.

A simple Google query "tesco discount brands results" yielded me this:

You're never going to find THE EXACT answer to a question like yours--at least not for free--but a simple query like the one I entered will get you enough info for at least an infomed hypothesis: in this case, the initiative does not appear to have been successful. Basic research skills like the one I employed here are critical to a good
    Marketers skillset.

Also, check out their public disclosure statements including their annual report. There will be both explicit and implied statements about the success or lack thereof (hint: if they don't trumpet it to the shareholders, it's because there isn't anything to trumpet). I'll leave it to you though to dig up that info.
