Need A Tagline/slogan For Coffee Shop
Posted by Anonymous on

I have had a hard time coming up with a tagline for my coffee shop. Any ideas would be more than welcomed....things about my shop that help describe it......
People describe it as the Cheers bar because of its friendly, regular , quirky customers and baristas.
Serve organic fair trade coffee
Buy local products
Cafe and Drive thru
Located in a neighborhood
thanks for any ideas.

Sue, those descriptors are all about your coffee shop. What about your target audience? Who are THEY? What do you know about them? Who is the target audience for your tagline? Can you identify a specific segment of the local population most likely to become customers?
Also it's all but impossible to know how to approach the tagline issue without knowing the name of your business or the location (i.e., the city, neighborhood, state/province, country, etc.).

Locally and Organically Brewed and Enjoyed
Your Community Brew and Gathering Spot (or Cafe)

Why not simply...
"Serving the finest local and organic products"
Green, environmentally focused, community/civic minded and family friendly are far less important. And if people don't realize your cafe is located "in a neighborhood" or that you have "drive thru" service, they shouldn't be driving, really.
Don't make things more complicated than they need to be. Besides, you asked for us to suggest taglines, not write a book, right? Sounds like a nice place to visit for a cup of Joe. Local grown and organic, of course. Good luck.

Thank you for your responses! This is my first time using this venue but seems very helpful.
In response to mgoodmans great questions...
the business is in Eugene, Oregon, Eugene Coffee Company is the name. If you know anything about Eugene, being green, organic, down to earth etc is what this community is very much about. My target audience is alot about the people who live in the area, who drive by,,,also Eugenians who want to only drink organic/fairtrade etc. The target audience for the tagline???? hmmm, isnt everyone the target? I just want a tagline that reminds both customers and employees a bit about our values etc. I am not a typical business person as i come to this career after 25 years in social services so i approach much about the coffee shop in a community service type model. Any other ideas?
Thanks also to gail@publiside and philgrisolia=results!!!!!

You are organic, i use green for that;
cheers means fun to me;
civic/community is the same, unless of course toyota wants to put a TM on the 1st word...;)
which means it could be
EUGENE COFFEE COMPANY: Fun. Green. Community
: Fun. Green. Commune
You get that with the dots and read without them too...And as you would've noticed, you defines your target audience.
