Posted By: fahima on 10/14/2004 8:36 AM (CST) 250 Points
I have just received an ass on Coca-Cola in the late 80's. Have 3 questions but the contents of my assignment must add up to 6-10 pages? How do I do this in apply the 4 P's using the demographics as well.

Hi Fahima,
I highly suggest that you review the KHE Important Guidelines section and add to your question.

What do you think is important to highlight about Coca-Cola's strategy? How have you outlined their use of the 4 P's and demographics?

To get you started, here is a link to some other relevant questions:

KHE Questions on 'Coke'
KHE search on 'demographics'

Hope that this helps!

Expand on the 4 p's- history of price etc. to make your paper longer. This requires basic research- check their website and apply that information to your paper. Find a book of companies histories.

I hope that you have enough information.

If your instructor is teaching the 4P's I hope this is in the "History" section of the course.

The 4 P's are only the supplier side of the equation and have been rejected as the basis of marketing since the early 90's. The philosophical shift occurred when people understood that only products which deliver real value to the customer are true products. That the price is determined by the value assigned by the customer. Etc.

Price, Product, Promotion, and Place...yes I remember them well.

http://www.coca-cola.com/flashIndex1.html is your door to finding much information about Coke. I would go into the investor areas especially, since the annual report probably will give you stats, http://ir.thecoca-colacompany.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=94566&p=irol-reports
The summary is at http://www2.coca-cola.com/investors/annualandotherreports/2003/index.shtml
Also if you do a search many of the business magazine websites you will probably unearth plenty of goodies to help you expand your assignment. Try http://www.fortune.com/fortune/

I'm sure if you do a Google search posing your questions about Coke, you will find glean some useful information as well.

HI Fahima,

4P's apply for the Coke case. I think it should be specific. For example, as you know Coca cola is the multil-national company. So, it have various markets with different characteristics. In only US Market, the Coca cola had to have its own strategy to compete with Pepsi. I remember that before the late's 80 the company had changed its product in a way that Coke changed the taste, flavour. But, they were wrong. Because in the US market, the American drink Coke as their habit, it 's not for the taste or something like promotion, etc.

Thus, you should consider the situation specific.

I would like share with you the knowledge.
