Marketing Plan Launch Strapline
Posted By: elenaworld* on 10/26/2004 3:28 PM (CST) 125 Points
Help Please!

I am hoping you can give me some inspiration. We are launching our new marketing plan for 2005 to our distributors (who are B2B). The marketing plan includes a host of new and old marketing tools and publications to take them to a new level of marketing to their customer and prospect base. It has been totally revamped and is second to none in our industry.

So my dilema - is the strapline - I'm a little bored with the usual 'The best way forward', 'Pulling Together', 'The Best Marketing tools', 'Maginificent Marketing Tools', 'The Power of Marketing' etc, (I'm sure you get the picture). I'd like something different, catchy and even a bit whacky. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

At a company I used to work for, we used a variety of themes for product line launches. The themes were not directly related to our products, but were plays on words.

One was "Set your sails for success", playing on sails and sales. We had a variety of nautical theme promo items for the sales channels (a floating key chain, bags, etc.). The trainers/presenters wore nautical themed clothes and the meeting rooms were appropriately decorated. Also, had a contest for some sort of cruise for the ones who had the best results with the newly launched products.

Hi, Elena --

Careful what you wish for! The wackiness runs rampant among some of the Experts here. ;]

Can you tell us what the product is? That might help generate some ideas.

One to start with, out of your own mouth (or mouse): "Second to None."

Thank you for the quick responses.

We are in the office supplies indsutries - boring but lucrative. I do want to keep away from the paperclip line though, but love the idea of incorporating some product/theme into the line.

Hope this helps!

A tough lookin' boss closeup. He says:

"Well Frankie...it looks like the chair for you."

Close up of other person...smiling... s/he says

"The chair?"

Boss: "Yeah, the chair"

person: "That's great...I've been needing a new chair"

pullback to show your office supply delivery guy/gal delivering the chair. worker sits in it spins and is comfortable, smiling.

I set this premise because it can also be used in print, very effectively. I know it's freaky...but, it gets the juices flowing for other tag lines.

"You could get the chair too" visit XYZ and get chairs for everyone. Now on sale...."

Besudes
OK - KHE....get busy.

***ERROR***
What does "Besudes" have to do with anything? The thought was, before the phone rang...Besides, you could use several tag-lines for various product-lines.

Sorry for error

"Business is booming," or

"Business gets booming," or

"Get business booming."

I keep thinking that the word Business needs to fit somewhere in your slogan.

If anything else occurs to me, I'll be back...

If you're talking about marketing tools - how about a Marketing Toolkit for the 21st Century - You can take the analogy or metaphor as far as you like.
"Sharpen up your sales"
"Hone your prices"
"Screw down your costs"

And so on. DIY versus Craftsmen - the list is endless!

You want wacky? Run with this to get some out-of-box thinking - just ideas, not finished straplines by any means:

"Your business toolbox" (going with Peter's tool theme)

"Rebuild your business" (with a classic car theme)

"Classic lines, new ideas" (ditto)

Not much to work with, but I hope it helps!

Since you are in the office supplies business, I suggest, "Think outside the envelope." You can use oversized envelopes to deliver materials, etc.

hi elenaworld

how about these for strapline

"Breaking the Barrier"
"Winning in Our Way"

i am sure you already have an Annual Sales fogure of 2004(estimated, whcih will be achieved). why dont you put a Target figure (in Value or in Volume) and put that in Strapline. For example your business wants to achieve more than USD 100 million next year as you came close that. Then your strapline can be

"100 million & Beyond"

hope this helps.
cheers!!
