Experience With 'w3award'

Posted by mgoodman on 250 Points
Does anyone here have knowledge of, or experience with, W3Award -- www.w3award.com ?

I have a client who could use some credibility for a web-delivered product/service, and this award could deliver that. I've done as much online research as I can and think I understand the lay of the land, but I'm hoping that someone has actually entered a competition with these folks before, or knows someone who has.

For reference, it looks like the primary sponsor (or maybe the owner) is the International Academy of the Visual Arts. Are they a legitimate organization, or just a front for the awards business?

Are you aware of any other awards organizations that might be better for us? The goal is to have some kind of third-party endorsement of the website for my client. (Client is US/Canada, not global.)

Any additional feather your client can stick in his or her cap is one more than they had before. Just be cautious of any up-front fees if they seem unreasonable. That'll be your first clue that the awards might be a scam. Costs should be nominal at best, reasonable at worst.

Seems the organization has been around at least since '06. You can check out the winners going back to then if you Google w3awards.

    Check it out...

    Hi Michael,

I’ve heard of the W3 Awards, but can’t say I know much more than just minimal name recognition for this website award brand, no direct experience.

I have more awareness of the following award programs:

    1. The Interactive Media Awards (IMA).
    2. WebAwards by the Web Marketing Association.
    3. The Webby Awards by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Sorry couldn’t be of more help,

    Steve
