Help Please! Need Name For Swimwear Company

Posted by Roma1173 on 250 Points
My sister and I will be retailing swimwear online and in my area. I also design swimwear and would like to eventually sell my own line. My demographic is females 16 to 30. We will focus on selling trendy swimwear (including styles with embellishments/beading) for the fashion conscious female. I want a name that describes what I am selling, but also something that I can use if I decide to branch out and sell clothing in addition to swimwear.

What is the competitive environment like? What brands are your main competition? Where does your target audience currently purchase swimwear? What's most important to them when they buy swimwear -- the brand, the retailer, how they think they look in the garments, color, style, etc.?

What are the criteria by which your target audience decides what to buy? What are you trying to communicate with the name -- other than that you sell fashion swimwear? Do you want a lifestyle name, or more functional, or no preference?

Within your target age range, what's the sweet spot? A 16-year-old is likely to have different preferences than a 30-year-old, and the more targeted you can be (with us, and ultimately in the name), the more effective the name is likely to be.

I want to retail brands such as Betsey Johnson, Vix, and Beach Bunny or something of similar quality/style. These brands/styles are not easily accessible in my area and there is a very limited selection if at all. The style, look of the garment, and quality will be most important to the customer and will be the criteria used to determine whether to purchase or not. I think I want to develop a brand name, but am open to suggestions. I am more interested in a lifestyle name rather than a functional name. I would define my customer as a young trendy, yet classy woman who likes "bling", probably someone between 20 and 27; a social and stylish young woman.
