May I suggest reading previously asked questions.
We have had quite a number of launch questions which have been answered very well. May be that would help.

Here are some suggestions that work for various budgets:

1) Assuming store already has a database of loyal customers, host a private launch event for those customers and their guests with food and drink

2) Instead of wine and cheese (which is, yes, well overdone), try a twist: dessert bar, chocolate bar, or the like

3) If your store's vibe allows it, having a DJ would be a great idea too

4) Is your store in a big city? Larger cities typically have websites and newsletters that can list your launch event (for example, Social Diva in Atlanta or Daily Candy which lists events for NYC, LA, Chicago, Boston, and (soon) Dallas). Another option would be Lucky magazine which lists events for major cities. Again, this suggestion is to help you build buzz.

That's all I can think of right now. I know that when I've attended events that offered sweets and cocktails instead of the usual wine and cheese, those events stick out in my mind more. Hope this helps!

Hi

Since you are going to offer beauty products and accessories a way to advertise would be to have a beauty consultation day with free beauty treatments, free samples and maybe a raffle with prizes.
Another way to advertise would be to have a short beauty seminar for your customers.

I don’t know about your budget but maybe even a fashion show launching your beauty products, accessories and cloths.

I hope this helps

Provided there is a list of "loyal or frequent customers", why not utilize the list, send out a mailer advertising the new offerings and along with it, offer them a deal. Tie in a charity to the event. Something to the affect of: Spend x amount, get x amount of beauty supplies free or a discount of x amount. The store will donate x% to the advertised charity. People who spend $$ on themselves, especially on high dollar cosmetics and accesories, usually will spend $ just to say they donate or support a charity.
Besides, helping out a charity makes everyone feel good and everyone can benefit.
Good luck!

The best "coaching" comes from listening and building on what you know. Since it was a terse description my coaching will tie on two (2) words; "launch" and "unique".

Both words cry out for something different. You last six words hammer this home. Most lifestyle stores I've visited don't have store attendents that fit the lifestyle. So pay them better or give them an allowance but make each one look like their isn't a product in the store that has been or is on their bodies.

Next, most people coming to these stores are confused about themselves or the store premise, or both! So set them straight and gear yourself for success by asking them to fill out an online customer profile so their specific interests can be better served now and each time they visit. The benefits to the store and customer from this beginning are huge. So huge I cannot type it all in this space with even a million monkeys at keyboards.

Enjoy. Be different. Demand excellence. If its real the customer will know and then will buy. Anything.

hi freyan

whre is your store located?? you given very little information whatsoever in regards to your store location, consumer class etc.

anyway, here are some ideas..

1. organize a 3 day long "Free Beauty Care" sponsored by one the leading beauty product brands like L'Oreal. Sned out invitations to your consumers who match the profile from your consumer database. consumers will receive beauty related tips also.

2. you can also tag an Accesories Fair/Exhibition in which all the types of accesories will be displayed and sold at a discounted price. The target consumers will get invited to this.

3. declare a flat discount (i.e. 10%) on all the products of the new floor as a Launching Promotion of 3 days. communicate it through high-end fashion magazines.

4. ur new floor is the 2nd floor. Brand with your shop name, and launch theme all the 2nd floors of 10 buildings on either side and direction of the road in which your shop is located. this is certainly create attention in peoples mind and they will at least try to make a drop at the new floor. BUT do communicate all the carrots you want to offer to the consumers to come to this new floor.

hope this helps.

cheers!!
