KNT,

can you give us an idea of what kind of product you sell?

Also how did you come to the conclusion that the entire foreign community is your customer?

Would you rather have your product make it's appeal to everybody?

or

Would you rather have your product make it's strongest appeal to people who want to buy it?

Do you have a website that we can all see? Thanks so much.

Your Servant, Deremiah, *CPE (Customer Passion evangelist).

You need to be much more specific in defining your primary target audience. Trying to be all things to all people is a good way to be nothing to anyone. It's important that you focus on ONE small segment of the market and do a great job of positioning yourself for that market. If it works, you can consider expanding the target.

Our web site will act like being a trader. We will select only good quality or premium grade,if possible. And we will focus on seeking good quality products, reliable services. Our customers are able to find various items, categories from our web site. The products are such as handicrafts from our country both exclusive items produced for us or from suppliers. We supply our products both in retail and wholesale price. Actually, as mentioned before, being a trader, we aim to sell in wholesale lots, therefore, our main target are importers or small&medium stores in forieng countries who want to save cost of travel.

Kannika,
If my understanding is correct, you are aiming to project an online store, which is specific to Foreign markets, and is not open much to the Domestic Buyers (cost differential in the pricing possibly).

In that case, the main point to consider is that YOU become the face of the country - and the promotional aspect per se would be essentially the promotional strategy used for your Country.
The rationale behind this logic is that since you plan to operate in a more service-oriented manner, than a product-oriented manner - you would need to communicate your offerings piggybacked on the Service Function.
What I am alluding to is that

(a) Identify the offerings that are synonymous with your country - in terms of People, Culture, Tradition, Locations, etc.
(b) Market the "Experience" - Experiential Marketing is the key for projecting Culture and Tradition
(c) Communicate the take-away from this experience - not in its entirety, but leave space for exploration!
(d) Reinforce your Services - How you fit in this big picture as the Experienced and Expert Facilitator

This would be the Marketing part according to me. What you need specifically is - How to Promote the website.
Taking a cue from the above points, you could look at doing some of the following things:

(a) As Michael mentioned - DEFINE your offerings. Generate a list, and make sure you have comprehensive information on the offerings. If you plan to sell Handicrafts to Foreign Countries, ask - Why should the foreigners buy it from me? What is it that I offer that others dont? Identify - and then communicate your USP.
It could be
- Price Levels
- Convenience
- Exhaustive Product Listing
- Quality
- Authenticity of Products
- Robust Distribution Network

(b) Next thing - Communication - Quintessential part of your promotion - Best resources - Third Party Administrators. You could look at tapping the following resources
- C&F Agents established in the foreign countries
- Travel Agents
- Cultural Associations of your country, with the non-resident nationals staying abroad, who would want to 'simulate' their country experiences

(c) Advertising - Critical to your promotion again
Advertise primarily on websites that have the same target segment as yours - people with an affinity towards "Traditional" items
- Websites offering Travel Packages
- Traditional Product Offerings of those Countries
- Museums and Associations IN those countries

(d) Also, if you are looking at Agents who would want to buy Wholesale stuff from you - get into Forums and Associations that offer Business opportunities IN those countries - SPECIFIC to your Target Segment.

Hope this helps!
Regards,
Puru
