How To Develop A Marketing Strategy For A Company That's Been In Business For Over 6 Years

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm about to develop a marketing strategy for an IT company that's been in business for 6 years, but has never really had a strategy.

I've done some research, but there are so many elements to look at, WHERE DO I START?

Thanks for your help!

    Hi

yes, I'd start with your customers - and look at what expectations they have of the company. After 6 years, they'll have an opinion. So ask them. If you can get to past customers too, so much the better.

You need the customer research to inform your strategy - but it's not the only thing to consider, eg:
    - What are your company's core skills?
    - How do you make them as profitable as possible?
    - How long has the plan to last?
    - Where do you want the business to be at the end of the plan period?

The marketing strategy you end up with has to support your goals for the company, and be something that the company's owners, staff, business partners and customers can all believe in.
