Product Placement In Music Videos

Hi!

I'm a swedish student that is writing my thesis on product placement in music videos.
I haven't found that much litterature on the subject and I need all the information I can get.
How common is ppl in music videos?
Is it the companies that contacts the music producers with requests for brands that they wanna have in a video?
I wanna know everything and I'm greatful for every answer.

    The Kluger Agency is the firm that does all of this. To my knowledge and according to other news sources (although this agency seems to value being as low-key as possible) they do "brand-dropping" (brand mentioning in songs), product placement strictly in music videos, and all around partnerships similar to the candies/fergie deal (they may have done that too, i'm not sure). I'd try and get hold of one of their entry level people who may be easy to reach out to for answers to questions.
