Just For Fun Marketing Terms

Posted by SteveByrneMarketing on 500 Points
Happy Summer to all.

I thought we could all use some summer fun. Rob O'Regan’s current piece in CMO “New Year, New Terms” creates a list of new media marketing terms that poke fun at pop terms particularly in the area web-based marketing.

For example – “A Phil Idiot” Marketing: Marketing that only takes place through guys named Phil.”

I know, it’s pretty bad, but you get the idea. Now it’s your turn. What are your amusing twists on the buzz terms of today? Don’t be shy, the more “out there” the better.

Thanks for your participation and enjoy the rest of the summer.

    Okay how about

incitefuel - what happens when you let the wrong kinds of stuff either into your advertising i.e. name calling with your competitors or for that matter onto your airplane.

adwards - advertising copy created by a Mr. Edwards who doesn't know the difference between a invalid click and an invalid clique

Byrneing bridges - You may be tempted to tell your boss and coworkers what your really think of them, but don’t. You never know when you’ll meet up with them again. Someday one of these people may hold your future in their hands; you don’t want them to remember you as the a?? from the marketing department.

Phil, it is sound wisdom not to be burning or byrning any bridges, personally learned the hard way.
