For my company to get into organized retailing of auto accessories…how can we generate footfalls or increase traffic for a new auto accessory store?

It is time to make some friends with some nearby auto related businesses that doesn't cover your niche. Do a referral program where you and them send each other customers by promoting each other's businesses. You can start promoting through word of mouth, flyers, mails, radio and discounts on your new auto accessory store.

If you're near a college, try to find a car club and have them promote your store and give them discounts and cash for their work.

If there's local car magazines in your area, pay them to write an article about your store. Try to build a relationship with car service companies, taxi drivers, truck drivers, car mechanics, repair shop and etc because they will be your long term customers.

Offer classes to teach people (for adults as well as new drivers) how to do basic car care: change headlights, fuses, wipers, etc.

Since the auto accessory retail business is totally unorganized, please elaborate, as to how to:
    1) Piggyback on existing distributors in the auto industry
    .........
    2) Get referrals introduced and add incentive programs for them - how do we generate referrals, since they will be newly opened stores.....

They seemed interesting ideas, so thought of dwelling further...
