There are several kinds of in-store contests that would appeal to your customers. The bottom line for these contests: people like to get something for free or at a good discount.

    Good ideas include:

    - Instant Scratch and Win tickets - Every ticket is a winner - it can be a 20% discount or a new iPod.

    - In Store Scavenger Hunt - Customers can pick up their "treasure map" at store entrances. Clues on the map lead customers to different parts of the store where they have to locate that department's treasure. Once finished, customers can go to your customers service desk and claim their treasure - a small promo prize (cloth shopping bag, key chain) and then be entered into the grad prize drawing.

    - What's Inside? In a central store location, place a popular refrigerator, stove, or kitchen item. Inside, place another item. For two weeks, a clue is given each day as to what is inside. All correct answers are put into a drawing for a grand prize. You can also put the clues on your store website where only your registered members can see them (adding to your subscriber list).

    Good luck!
