Is it ever ethical to have professionals in marketing do our homework and pass it off as our own work and why not?

Ironic that you cut and pasted your ETHICS homework problem here for us to do for you!

The purpose of this forum isn't to GET ANSWERS to your homework problem when you put absolutely nothing into it yourself, but instead to explore ideas and get clarification of concepts AFTER you did some work. The forum could be the most valuable asset in your toolbox while in school and in your careeer after. We don't do your homework for a couple reasons:

    1) It's considered cheating and a violation by most universities when you have others do your homework and pass it off as your own. Thousands of professors from all over the world read and monitor this foruim and can catch you! The penalties could range from a zero for the problem, a zero for the assignment, failing the course, or even expelled from the university. You wouldn't copy from a fellow student's paper, would you?
    2) You don't learn anything! And if you graduate and haven't learned anything in school, your career will suffer.

So, PLEASE feel free to use the forum - we'll work with you and help and discuss marketing concepts and theory. But: Please do some work first - what are your thoughts on ethics in commerce? What are some examples of ethical and unethical behaviors?

Please read the Important Guidelines for this forum:

    https://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/guidelines.asp

In particular, please read #5: Experts are happy to help students explore their thoughts, but they will not do their assignments for them. If you are a student, be sure to share your own ideas along with your question.

Great homework question. What do you think? I think it is. Why do you think I think it is?

Is it ethical for an elephant to have a trunk?

Since when do we question the "ethicality" of things like commerce? Is it ethical to exchange gifts with other people on special occasions? This is in the same category.

    Dear tajreen,

If a student opens a book in a library and no one on staff sees
or hears it, has the book actually opened?

If a student "borrows" someone else's notes and passes them off as his or her own and no one ever knows any the wiser, has the assignment still been earned?

My answer to each question is no.
