I've a client that is using e-mail marketing to drive his pick up and delivery business for his small grocery store. I beleive that my client is going about "testing" his theories about online grocery shopping the right way.

My client has a small grocery store. He purchased a decent delivery van, and began taking orders over the telephone. His next step, he began collecting e-mail addresses. He uses those e-mail addresses to deliver his e-mail flyer with specials. You can sign up for his e-mail flyers by going to www.myfinefoods.com

He has now hired me to build an online grocery store for him. I've set up his online grocvery store using Opensource software. You can see the work thus far at www.myfinefoods.ca

Feel free to contact me if you need to find out what opensource code I'm using, and where to get it. It is easy to use, and easy to install and configure.

He had a good plan. I'm in the process of finding/choose a name for my grocery deliver service. I cannot afford an online store yet. First I need narrow my target market.

Elderly, handicap, home bound, recovering from surgery, home sick, pregnant on bed rest moms, new parents. It's difficult to craft a name that would be appealing to baby boomers, seniors and everyone else. help.

how would you market online when you're just beginning?
i thought about creating a facebook page and offer incentives for referring a friend and get $5 off delivery, free recycled grocery bag, etc. or groupon & other coupon sites.

I don't really have a huge budget for marketing, so it would have to be free methods of advertising/marketing.

    any suggestions appreciate.
