Scam Using Mp/khe Names

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
GREETINGS...TODAY I RECEIVED THE THIRD SUCH SCAM LETTER FEATURING PEOPLE I KNOW.

THIS TIME ITS GARY BLOOMER. WHY? YOU SAY....
THE NAME IS CLOSE: MR. GARY BLOOMMER (ooops)..
stating they were held up at gunpoint in London while on vacation....and we all know Gary isn't going to take a brief trip to London, all of a sudden.
"I've been to the embassy and the police and the hotel is not letting us go, and our plane leaves in 24 hours...I'm freaking out."

It continues to be the same story, time after time. They will read this and change the story, but watch out for each other OK?

    Dear All,

As an old friend from college dryly noted on Facebook, getting robbed at gunpoint in London is unlikely. Knifepoint? Yes, but not
    gun point.

I am NOT in London. I am fit, well, and safely here in Delaware.
Huge thanks to Randall, Michael, and Chris (and others) for contacting me about this scam.

Even if I HAD been robbed, I don't think my grammar would be as bad as the person pretending to be me makes it sound. Yahoo has been alerted and the law is closing in on the scammers.

Thanks again to everyone, and especially to Randall. Your concern and support are greatly and sincerely appreciated. Thank you.

Stuck in London until debt is paid.... after being unable to wire cash my mom started asking oh what part of London dear ... I know it well.. saved 4k there she did!!

but not because she was swift just a techno dinosaur.
