    Your survey does not work.

This is a study regarding client brand perception using social media as the mechanism for getting the answers... not a social media study - sorry if that was not clear! We are using blogs, facebook and linked-in as well as a number of other resources.

I just went on the link and it worked fine - what issues are you having?

    Dear hdonnelly

I've just taken your survey and NOWHERE is there a SINGLE question about my use of social media. Care to explain why? Or is this simply a way for you to boost your e-mail listing through a survey?

    Dear hdonnelly

"This is a study regarding client brand perception using social media as the mechanism for getting the answers".

Bogus claptrap. No mention of branding, of brand perception,
or of ANYTHING even REMOTELY connected with branding.

"We are using blogs, facebook and linked-in as well as a number of other resources." To achieve what?

    Dear Harriet,

Thank you for putting me straight. When I'm wrong I admit admit as much: I was wrong. Apologies.

As for not seeing .com and .net as as brands, I see them less as brands in their own right and more as vehicles to show a brand—
I see them as the land below the virtual real estate of whatever they're attached to, not necessarily as the house and the garden.

Yes, I've been stung on surveys like this, (and deluged with hunk mail), hence my attitude (which isn't aimed at you), so apologies if I came on too strongly. I do that sometimes ... to my shame I'm sure.

Perception. That's really the key isn't it. With our loaded dice (good or bad) we create our own world view.

Again, thank you for clarifying your position, and for correcting me.
To be honest I'd not thought of .coms and .nets as brands.

But from now on, I will.
