Know-How Exchange : Taglines/Names

We don't stand behind our work, We stand upon it!

Why do you feel you need a tagline? What do you expect it will do for you? (And how will you decide what the tagline will be, if we submit a dozen candidates? What are the criteria for a great tagline?)

What's the name of the company? We should know that before we start to address the tagline, so we don't repeat anything from the name in the tagline. (Or do we have to explain an ambiguous name?)

What unique and important benefit do you deliver to your target audience? Why should they select you instead of some other flooring supplier in your area? What do you want the tagline to communicate?

Where are you located? What geography do you serve? It may make sense to have some reference to your market in the tagline, if it isn't in your name.

We serve the Columbus Ohio Market, but will grow to new markets after we deem the business to be a logical venture for us. Our name for the time being is CCF, or Columbus Commercial Flooring, this name will probably be just CCF as we move to other markets as to not keep Columbus in our name. We deal only with the commercial market so a tag line is not a a deal killer if we do not have one, but we would like to add it to our logo. Trust and service are out the top of our corporate culture.
