Pr For Pro Bono Job

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
The architect firm I work for has taken on a Pro Bono job designing and remodeling a costume shop for a local community theatre. I am looking for some interesting ways to generate some good PR for this job in various medias. Any fun ideas?

    Lots of opportunities... Among them:

    • Invite media to shoot visuals of the remodel and what it will look like (of course invite them back when project is complete)

    • Have members of theater troupe in costume to visit media to discuss remodel and what it will mean to the theater experience.

Gail, Those are good ideas. I like the second point. We also thought about having our team dress up in costumes after the remodel to announce it. Since it is a summer theatre and the actors are college theatre students practicing their trade, I don't think they are on site anymore. But I can certainly check and see.

Also, consider a YouTube video, beginning with the team of architects (in everyday business garb holding blue prints and holding open a door, presumably the costume shop door into which you can see the existing shop) introducing the plans to "take on" the fun remodeling challenge (A Change of Pace...). Then when the remodel is complete, round out the entire video with the same team in costume with a brief look about the newly remodeled shop (maybe with a sign on the front of the door, which is opened by costumed architects and client(s). The whole thing, supported by press releases may eventually turn into a new YouTube sensation.

    Best of luck!
