Carpet Cleaning And Duct Cleaning For The Holidays

Posted by acleaning2 on 25 Points
Not a dilemma, I am new at e-mail marketing and have a e-mail list of homeowners. With the "Holiday Season" coming up I would like to urge them on to have their carpets cleaned and also the air ducts too freshen up from the summer. The company does excellent work and the owner
who also works with a crew (they did such a good job he
got a hug) and paid. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bruce

Is your list a double opt-in list of current or previous clients of this duct and carpet cleaning company?

    Bruce,

unlike most questions asked, we already have some traction here. You emphasize quality (fantastic) you got results - hugs (wow!!).

    You are on your way!!

Let us dig into this a little. Firstly what don't you do. I know this is a dumb thing to say, only you should serve the sort of person who wants what you do. There are people out there who don't like what you do, or have some genuine complaint.

    Listen to them!!

Their info is gold dust, sir. It is the solution to most of your nasty client problems. Sort out what they don't like and fess up. Make a statement about how you tipped bleach over their carpet when you tripped over their dog. Tell them how you calmed them down, organized a new carpet for the following day and made sure all the work was done by your crew and not them. All at your expense (= your insurance, time and effort).

If that ain't reassuring, I don't know what is. Telling them this will also show your integrity. That is one of your core issues with a USP*.

**Nitty Gritty** You want houses that are nice to come into now that the autumn is here and the heating is on ... and it smells of cats, dogs and rabbits.

You open the door and you get hit by that heavy waft of Pansy, Poppy and Gertrude.

I cleaned Brian's carpets in Luneburg for that precise reason!! It makes it nice to come home to. The point here is to make your list aware of the fact - and tell them what you can do about it. You don't have to be the cheapest in town if you are offering the quality result they want.

They come into their home that smells invitingly warm. They slip off their shoes and wander across the soft pile.

Good enough for a start? Feedback please.

    To your success, Moriarty xx

*My USP pdf is still being finished; you will have to wait for it. Sorry. USP is your unique selling proposition. It is a simple idea that is incredibly hard to master - there are things you can start with and these are (will be) dealt with in my PDF. If you are on my mailing list, you will be informed when it is released.

    Note to Gemma/Moriarty,

There's an unwritten rule on this forum—a sort of
    professional agreement—that contributors refrain from
    outright self promotion.

Statements along the lines of "If you are on my mailing
list, you will be informed when it is released" and "You
can download it from my website ..." and so on, well,
    they're not done.

    Thankyou for that.

You cannot blame me for not finding an unwritten rule, and you did not need to be so abrupt. I have been a member for several weeks now.

Secondly, the information I was offering is genuine. The reason for suggesting signing up was so that they would be informed of any update.

It is not possible to sign up for my *professional* mailing list from any of my website's indexed pages. I serve a small area in the Netherlands (what is commonly called the Randstad), and my traffic sources are local not national and certainly not international. This mailing list is not large as you can imagine! It doesn't need to be. I am also very careful when it comes to choosing clients.

I've no doubt your information is genuine and I don't doubt your sincerity.

As for being "abrupt" ... it's probably better that you hear this from me as opposed to from one or other of the forum's more, how shall I put this "direct" contributors.

    Gary,

    thankyou for that.

Now, to be quite honest with you, there are rather too many unwritten rules around here. We need a "sticky" post at the top of the forum telling those posting a question for the first time to give more information about their project.

    Covering the usual suspects -
.... who your clients are (not)
    .... where you are based
.... why you think people should buy from you
.... what your clients like (and dislike)
    .... .... etc, etc.

It would clear the air around here, and save a lot of hot air from people who have better things to do than regurgitate the information for 20%+ of the questions asked.

PS I can easily guess who those abrasive characters are!
