Where are you located? Have you researched the Elks community for marketing planning examples, resources, and specifically the Elks hall rental programs, tips, professional adviser recommendations, etc.

The Elks Club has "850,000 members and 2,000 Lodges nationwide". It seems with an organization this large and this old, there would be a great deal of information and experience within the membership to get you started.

You may have to HIGHLY publicize the remodel to those who consider Elks' Clubs rustic and little more than a shack for men that could be easily transferred to an ice fishing hole.

Is this a facility that would be comfortable for someone hosting a contemporary business or social event? Share lots of pictures online and in print, and build your word-of-mouth publicity army.

Share what makes your facility a better selection than others in your area, and target those messages to the appropriate groups.

I would tap your members. Outside, it may be difficult for someone to do this on a percentage basis. But networking thru your members would be your best bet.

Being newly remodeled is something to talk about. Invite the local press to tour the facility. Your org does a lot for the community and it would be a good way for them to give back to you.

The person you retain should develop a marketing plan for you. I'm not sure by your question, but if you want someone to develop one for you, this is a question in the project page. Or, go to the local business college and see if you can get someone to do this as a homework project or hire an intern.

As far as suggestions, think of alumni associations (reunions) and wedding planners or those who service weddings, like caterers (unless you are the caterer) dress shops etc to start. Build a network. But those niches are the low lying fruit.

Love to hear some follow up comments and questions.

Firstly you could post this on "Hire an Expert"

As to my recommendations, apart from the solid advice that has already been given - find out the character of your best members. They are who you serve best and will be easiest to enroll. That you have remodelled your business means that your targeting may be a little more effective.

    Hope this helps,

Where are you located? Is there someone there who would be available to work with a marketing consultant?

You can post a project (no cost to you) in the Hire an Expert section of this website. See the link in the column at the right side of this page.

Or you can browse the profiles of the top experts on this forum and see if you find one that seems like he/she might be a good candidate, and then contact them via email.

Either way, you'd be well advised to hire a professional for the task, or you are unlikely to accomplish the objective.
