Re-branding A Non-profit

Posted by mychal on 250 Points
Halo Network Foundation (HNF)provides a community that transforms lives by empowering homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and families to achieve self-sufficiency through life skills, job training and employment in the food service industry.

Kona Kai Coffee is a for profit which has recieved National and State Recognition for the work we do in our communities. We created Halo Network Foundation to continue our work. But there is a disconnect between Kona Kai and Halo, so we are shutting down Kona Kai as a for-profit, and bringing it under the umbrella of "HNF". We want to rebrand "HNF" with Kona Kai, since Kona Kai is well known for it's philanthropy work and awards.

We have two programs, a Youth Barista Education Program for homeless and at-risk youth ages (16-23), and an adult culinary job training program for homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and families.

Do i keep Kona Kai Coffee? possible names: Kona Kai Chefs, and Chefs at Kona Kai.

I need your help! with name and tagline.

I would not change the name. I would simply add a "halo" to the logo of the coffee and brand it as "angelic coffee created to support heavenly dreams"

I would definitely keep the Kona Kai name. It's a lot more familiar-sounding than Halo, and there's a great reputation associated with that name. Carol is on the right track.

I will take that under consideration. thanks

Yes; i will be keeping Kona Kai, What about Chefs and Kona Kai, or Kona Kai Chefs

Somehow "Kona Kai Chefs" doesn't seem quite consistent, since Kona Kai is known for coffee. "Kona Kai Baristas" fits. For adults "Kona Kai Gourmet" or "Kona Kai Edibles"?

Kona Kai Coffee, part of the HNF family or HNF non-profit ... or Halo Network (Foundation).

This way you can keep your known brand, and communicate it's non-profit status and ties to HNF. You should probably check with a Hawaiian lawyer about the best language.

Just another way to view a solution.
