Sorry, I didn't see this as it was at the bottom of the page.

Any other information? After all, I'm quite new around here.

    Thanks, Carrie.

I'm sorry if my previous comment was a little short - put it down to shock. I simply had no idea, and from what you say, that's the way he wanted it.

While I am saddened and stunned by this news, I am also thankful to have had the pleasure of corresponding, debating, and sharing ideas with Phil over the last four years.

His funny, directly disarming, and totally bullshit-free approach to answering marketing and sales questions on this forum was as inspiring and impressive as it was enlightening and educational.

I had the pleasure and honor of engaging in what could be described, at times, as "spirited debate" with Phil. Although from time to time there issues on which we butted heads, my respect for his insight, wit, wisdom, and acumen was, and remains, enormous.

The world of marketing has been the richer for Phil's experience and opinion, and this forum shall forever be the poorer for his loss. He'll be greatly missed.

I'm very sad to hear of Phil's passing. He made the forum a more interesting place and he often "hit the nail on the head" in he's own uniquely direct, often humorous, style. I will miss Phil.

I'll miss his unabashedly fervent opinions. A toast to Phil!

It's interesting how well we get to know each other through this forum -- in most cases without ever having a real-time [audio or video] discussion or a face-to-face meeting.

I was reflecting on that when I learned of Phil's death. He's one of the regulars with whom I actually connected offline. I found it amazing then that he "sounded" just like he "sounded" on this forum.

I don't know if I'm out of order here - but isn't it appropriate to post a memoriam on his account? After all, many people visiting it in the years to come will think he's still around and might want to get in touch with him.

Is this something for the moderators to consider?

    Gem xx

I wasn't suggesting it happen in the next five minutes. I was making a suggestion that might find consideration when the board members next met.

Perhaps I didn't mean it like that? I did say that it was (a) perhaps out of order and (b) a suggestion.

Neither of which were intended to offend, which it obviously has. I apologize for being so forthright, and not knowing my place in the pecking order.
