Catchy Tagline For Clothing Boutique

Posted by blingbycabbi on 25 Points
I am starting a women's clothing boutique in Orlando Fl. The target audience is women age 30-40. The merchandise is all New York designers. The niche of the boutique is to bring New York fashions to Florida and help those between 30 & 40 to dress classy yet sexy. Upscale look with affordable prices. Clothes, shoes, and handbags. The name contains the word "Cliche'". I want to play off of the meaning of the word.

What is your boutique's name that contains the word "Cliche"? It's highly relevant to any tagline suggestions and it's best not to repeat any words in your name in the tagline.

Bearing in mind the things Steve has said, what will "Cliche" say to your potential customers? What is that special something you want to communicate with this much over-used word?

    Thinking of New York -

    Fifth Avenue styles
    A fifth avenue cliche (yawn)
    Manhattan avenues
    On the avenues of Manhattan
Empire state cliche (cut and paste!)
    Manhattan sexy

Do you like any of these, do any of these come near to what you like - and more importantly those who are buying. Your customers may not share your ideas ... !

"Cliche" is the name that I thought I wanted. I wanted to play off of the word in the tag line because it means predictable. So the customers coming in will know that leaving with something fabulous is predictable every time. Does that make since? Moriarty I love " avenues of manhattan" . Now that u sort of have more insight on what I'm trying to do, what r ur thoughts.

cliche definition: "trite, stereotyped expression; a sentence or phrase, usually expressing a popular or common thought or idea, that has lost originality, ingenuity, and impact by long overuse". source: dictionary.com

I'm not seeing how the word 'cliche" paints a desirable image for your brand, not "fabulous or predictable" in any good way from your customers pov.

i'm not happy with the cliche connotations myself. It's too negative - you need something that states certainty yet with a little surprise entwined, plus of course some style too. That means predictable is out too, it's too ... pedestrian. Boutiques aren't pedestrian and they aren't predictable - girls go to discover.

    Thinking along that line -

    Manhattan discovery
    Avenues of discovery
Treasure island (as hackneyed as cliche!)
    Manhattan treasures
    manhattan treasury
    treasured avenues

because avenues are used frequently and go the same place all the time, yet are always different.

    Avenues of Fashion

Any better? What do you think?

Thank you! Im canning the "Cliche" idea (thanks Steve). I've just checked my state to make sure the two names that Moriarty suggested are available...they are!! "Fifth Avenue Fashions" (vs Styles) and another fave "Avenues of Manhattan"

Thinking about this tagline: Fierce Fab Classy Clothing Boutique

Im just concerned it sounds to superficial? Thoughts, Critiques?

It's a little blunt. You need to evoke those thoughts in your customers, not state them. Leave that to the academic marketers.

    taglines

"Avenues of Manhattan" - walk with us in style down avenues of fashion.
"Fifth Avenue Fashions" - letting the sun dip on a summer's evening of fashion

Does this evoke any images in your mind's eye? That's what taglines are all about, after all. Knowing this, I'm sure you can come up with a few of your own.
