Help Naming An Event Planning Business

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Recently registered name with state is already being used by an active event planning company within our metro area, but who is based out of state. I have chosen to change my company name to avoid confusion and to set myself apart.

I am now having trouble coming up with a new name that is creative yet lends itself to social events. I would also like to branch into corporate events, since I currently do them for my current job all the time. So I was looking for a name that wasn't too social and could be seen as corporate as well.

In reading some information about business names, some have said to include your name in the title of the business as "you" are the brand, while others are of the belief to leave it out. Not sure what to believe. My name is Nicole Danielle...but I can't think of any creative way to include that in a business name...so not sure that is a concern anyway. As I live in a metropolitan area, I have a need to make it stand out as I am competing with other companies in two other states.

Types of events, I have planned are weddings, anniversary parties, retirement parties (corporate and social), family reunions and private parties.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

You had chosen "Memorable moments" so I'm going to use this as a focus point and work out from there - which you might like it this time ;-)

One issue is that when you stand out, stand apart, you're no longer competing! You're focusing on people who will choose you for the things you do best.

    How about

    Danielle the memory maker
    Danielle the memory whisperer
    Memorable whispers
    Making memories

Not very exciting, but they're a start. Do you like the approach? Do they inspire any of your own names that are better?

I don't know...I am cool in going a totally different direction. Some thoughts that I've had, but not necessarily unique are:

    Eventique
    Event Sensation or EventSensation
    Moments to Celebrate
    Reasons to Celebrate

Not crazy about any of them...just brainstorming.

To me, Eventique sounds the best. How about "Eventastic"? So let's have some fun ...

    Eventability
    Eventalicious
Eventaluscious [this takes a little too much reading though - it needs to be immediate]

Now I'm wondering how to marry Event and memory (or a similar word) together.

    "Memoryvent" simply doesn't work.
    Celebrevent [??!}

Celebr + something sounds too "cranial" as in cerebral ... well, to me at least.

    Celebracious

    "Simply Celebracious"

    Wajjafink? ;-)

The company name Eventique has a federal trademark on the name. Don't really like any of the other names.

Back trying to see if I can include my name in it somehow....ideas. It doesn't have to follow any of the words listed above. Looking for something catchy.

Now: are you looking for something that catches your eye? Or are you looking for something that catches those who are (yet to be) your best customers' eyes?

They are not always the same thing. Seeing yourself from behind the mirror and not just in the mirror is no easy job. That's why people have coaches - especially marketers.

So what was it that you particularly liked about Eventique (for all the legal problems) and that you particularly didn't like about the other suggestions? Because this is crucial; the other matter is to determine what your customers would choose - and that's totally out of the ball park right now.

Now you'd like a name that includes your name - is that "Memorable moments" or your own name? Since we haven't access to the latter, the former it must be.

How about "Memorique"? - it's the closest thing we have to your previous choice of business name.

I'm not sure if I've found a answer yet. I would like something catchy that would appeal to my potential customers, but something that I like as well. I'm thinking more of a two-word name.

I liked Memorable Moments because of the reoccurring mem/mom sound and the fact that it easily rolled off of the tongue. Therefore, I was of the belief that it was easier to say/remember.
