E-marketing Dissertation Topic Help

Posted by smart_alexander on 250 Points
Hello Marketers :) I will start now my MBA Dissertation phase, and as you probably know, The topic is a dilemma for me!

I have done some research and found that what will be important for my future employers(besides being of interest to me) will be something related to the E-marketing and its benefits to the SMES.

My problem now is to decide what angle should I study in these 2 areas? isn't the research question too broad?

Yes, "something related to the e-marketing" is too broad. But until you know who you might work for you cannot know what will be of value to them.

How about narrowing down your group - studying local/regional businesses - or see if e-marketing success/approaches differ based on different regions (of similar-sized/typed businesses)?

Sure I will narrow down the group to be the local businesses. However, what options do i have as research questions??

By the time you actually apply your Dissertation and it comes full circle (business application) will Emarketing be 'the' means of direct marketing?

You may want to use our Dissertation as a means of How Emarketing became extinct?

With the visual 'tweets' evolving into the important, where will Emarketing fit?

I'd like to start from the other direction - what have you gotten yourself into trouble for, as a kid, a student, whatever? Not just the common pranks, but something that speaks to an area of your life that's a little more creative. I don't need to tell the others here what I got myself into trouble for, but I am an outspoken kind of person, but it does point to a level of courageousness that few other marketers have. The things you got yourself told off for when turned about will show a dimension of yourself that's creative - but so everyday that you don't really perceive it.

Because this is the key to refining your choice of SMEs. It's not their size or shape, it's the things they do. What do they make or what do they do that makes their niche special to you? It's a kind of symbiosis that will make your study both worthwhile and personally rewarding - and narrows the field down significantly.

So far I didn't get what I want. .. I want some ideas of what the title should be

And so far, no one responding to this question has got what they need: details.

I see no request for a title, I see a request for angles between SMES and e-marketing. I see no no details about the aspects within these areas that are of interest to you and sadly, I have no ability to read minds. Instead, I read only broad, vague, up-in-the-air phrases that don't help me or anyone else responding to this thread to help you.

It is not possible to research questions until a decision is made as to what those questions will be. This therefore renders the point of a title moot. Until I know what you'll write about I cannot help you. Thus far the areas you've given are too broad. Refine. Focus. Niche down. Be specific.

Well, it is broad and vague for me, but I am interested in the areas of the SMEs and internet marketing in general, so what kind of titles do you suggest?
