Looking for Technology/ICT companies that have succeeded or failed transitioning from being B2B to B2C, what is their characteristics for succeeding or failing??

Successes: Microsoft (Xbox). Racal (became Vodafone). Samsung (phones). Hewlett Packard (Ink jets). Texas Instruments (calculators).

Failures (more difficult as they came and went): IBM (PC jr).

As failures, periods of HP and Intel are mentioned in the answers. the Volvo case is indeed a great one.
