Need Help With Advertising My Site!

Posted by jerzeygirl79 on 250 Points
I started an online computer repair website & I've been trying to advertise as much as possible. Now it's been 3 months I haven't even gotten ONE response!

Anyone who is serious about helping me have any ideas or a way to get me started?

Thanks!

Wouldn't computer repair be something you'd want done in person? And if the computer is broken, how does someone get online? Wouldn't it be better to either build relationships with physical computer resellers, or to advertise in your local area - eg schools and colleges, or around local businesses...?

That's a really good point. Guess that's why I'm no good at advertising/PR.
    Thanks.

It would help for you to start talking to people who have the type of equipment you specialize in fixing. How do they find someone to help them? Who do they trust? What would make you stand out in their eyes?

What you need is a Facebook fan page where minor problems can be diagnosed and rectified. Or twitter - or whatever social media works for you. For a local business, Fb is fantastic. I keep suggesting it to a guy who runs a computer shop and wails that with the street being pedestrianized he'll loose all his trade. Yet he has 25,000 people living within 500m of his shop and he doesn't even bother to put himself on Google maps!

Fb's also good because you can keep in touch with those who like your page, and remind them you're there. You can also have parties for followers and special offers - whatever floats their boat.

Given that it's local, paid advertising through Fb would be extremely effective for you. Just keep it well within affordable limits and be chatty when they get in touch: that way they'll know you're on their side.
